I know some facts: Alex invited Clayton to visit, she asked her roommate to go elsewhere for the night, Alex gets stopped for beer cans and Clayton takes the fall, at a party she flirts and says she wants to break up and she leaves and goes to room. He goes into a rage and beats her with his first. He then notices her heart beating and stabs her with a pen. On the way home he freaks out more and tells his mom who then calls Alex's parents who were in Las Vegas at the time. He turns self into police. No one heard screams because he did it all so fast. I know nothing about him molesting a young boy, or his dad or this doctor from NYMills. I will find out though!
Clay called his dad first not his mom, his dad called 911 hoping Alex was still alive and asked Clay to turn himself in before he harmed himself. The dad then called Clay's mom to get more info for the 911 dispatcher. You see Clay's dad asked his mom for a divorce a few years plus back and did not have everything the dispatchers needed though the mom was the one to file having more money for legal costs. The Clay molesting rumor is just that a rumor created here while in fact a different boy in Clinton had sealed records to the best of my knowledge. Someone may want Clay harmed in prison because of what has been done. Who could blame them? As for Clay's dad he is hurting over this as is his mom. The dad never hit Clay's mom though he would not make that claim concerning the children. Can Clay's mom claim she never hit the dad? It would be easy to vilify Clay's parents especially the dad because he did face the culture of Clinton\NH hockey head on showing no compassion for over involvement in sport by parents and coaches who try and pic who should succeed. Clay's dad was hard on his children however he does love them who's family is perfect please post and present the model for us all.

Hahah YOU are retarded..I went to college and can say my friends and I partied way too much. Had many guys in the group who drank allllll the time and of course all guys at times can be aggressive. But sorry, I don't ever remember any of us getting beaten to death for any reason. College kids will drink, even my kids will drink but if one is crazy enough to beat an innocent girl to death because he can't handle his anger (keep in mind not just any girl but his gf of two years who he claims to love) I would want him in jail also. Do you understand how long it takes to beat someone do death with your fists? And on top of that he then grabbed a curling iron and continued? In all that, did he not come back into his senses even for a minute and realize what he was doing? He deserves to rot in jail. I'm not blaming his family bc it isn't their fault. They are also victims in this and I feel sorry for them. But sorry, the son deserves to sit his life in jail before he kills someone else the next time gets mad! Alex can't come back and live her life, her family and friends cannot have her back. That's not something that will ever go away.

As one of Alex's best friends, the OD really did mess up by what they Said. This had nothing to do with his hockey awards and accomplishments, it had to do with him taking the life of one of the most kind girls that ever came out of new hartford, and recognizing how amazing she truely was that is the most important part that should never be forgotten and what should have been wrote about. Yes both families should get get sympathy but as for Clayton, he should not. I have grow up with alex and pretty much lived with her; Clayton has been a friend through out the past couple years, I would have never thought he could do this especially to such an amazing and loving friend. She treated him like he was on a silver plater there whole relationship and there is absolutely no excuse to what he did. He deserves to go to jail and stay there forever, this wasn't just a mistake. He hurt everyone in this area that knew her because he had a "rage", no excuse.

Also, the OD published his Hockey accomplishments, because that is ALL they have or know about him.
They hadn't released Ms. Kogut's name yet publicly, so they dont have much more to report on that. When they do, they will talk about all the great things SHE has done too.
They want to show that it's not just what you perceived to be low life thug/scum who are capable of murder. It's not just Corn Hill residents who do it, but also people who maybe be affluent or come from New Hartford. Even the people who were great Jocks, had many friends, or seemed like they had the world by the tail.
Many "rich" or "succesful" people have killed people. OJ Simpson, Ted Kennedy, his cousin Michael Skakel, Phil Spector, Robert Blake, Matthew Broderick, Brandy, Rae Carruth, former first lady Laura Bush.
This is usually out of the norm, and the paper will run with any info it has.
If you had said last week that this Wittemore kid was capable of murder and the victim would be Ms. Kogut, I'd bet the overwhelming majority of his friends or those who knew him would tell you absolutely no way. People have no idea what other people, no matter how close, are capable of or what goes thru their minds.
@ Sue Nammi -- I'd like to know where you come off saying the former First Lady committed murder. You clearly are bigoted so much so that your post, while surprisingly intelligible, is garbage. There's no doubt that this was a horrific incident; but what is it that compels you to go out of your way to make a post listing the names of such so-called 'affluent' people? You're stereotyping New Hartford as a community - which given your obviously low IQ - makes me especially certain you probably make little money yourself, or have ever received a higher education. Do yourself a favor and don't post on blogs or websites like this because you sound foolish and make a mockery of the issue itself by adding your WORTHLESS two-cents, so to speak.

I agree that the young man did wrong. That is a given. And for an innocent life to be taken, well, my heart is broken. My daughter new the girl who was killed. And I have another child who was friends with Clayton. I just think that people should not judge until the facts are all out there and that sympathy should go to BOTH families. The girls parents are grieving for sure, as is Clayton's family. How could this have happened? How could he have done this? How could she be gone...? As I stated prior. May God be with BOTH families. I am not choosing sides. I feel for both families.
Yah, yeah, yeah, "may god be with both families". Where was god while this babe was getting beaten to death? God gets all the credit and none of the blame.

Ok mr whittemore. So in today's paper the news is u are trying to get off on a technicality. Should that happen would u prefer to be beaten to death with a curling iron or a hockey stick?
