Think it depends on what forms you need to file.

Why are you questioning it? Because you didn't get yours? I had all of my tax forms, completed it on TaxAct and my refund was deposited into my bank account yesterday.

Seriously....get a frigging life if you have a problem with it.

Why would you judge someone who stated they received theirs. I received mine yesterday. I don't know why it's so hard to believe. Maybe you are just POd you haven't received yours.

If you take certain deductions, college tuition is one, your return will not be accepted as of yet. I hear the problem should be corrected before April 15. The original poster was saying that it is ironic since taxpayers would be fined if they were late. Get it?

What day did you E-File? I've used Tax Act for the past 6 years and it's never taken more than 18 days. Mine was accepted on Jan 31st but I wasn't given a deposit date yet.

I cannot remember the exact date I completed it, but I received notice from TaxAct on January 23rd that my federal tax return was accepted. The Where's My Refund feature was not up and running until last weekend and I checked it and my refund was scheduled for February 6th. It was direct deposited into my bank yesterday.

I don't know why I was doubted so much. I'm sorry if you didn't like my comment. I posted a simple and true response to the original poster.

Here's a solution.

Don't file taxes. Force the government into shutdown.

Because that's how people roll at Utica Topix. Don't like the post? Engage in character assassination. Beats doing research on the subject or admitting you were wrong.

I wasn't doubting you and didn't post anything about liking your comment or not. That was other posters. I simply asked you a question about when you filed so I could get an idea of how long the processing is taking. The original information was that the IRS was not accepting any returns until Jan 30th.

I agree with the original post. Those of us who do long form and claim college tuition or residential energy credits are penalized. I got a message from taxact advising me that possibly March is when the IRS will process these forms. If I owed them money I would have interest and late fees.

Yes mine wasn't accepted and I saw on the IRS site that mortgage interest forms and fuel deductions are all delayed. Damn.

Once again, those of us NOT eligible for Earned Income Credit are shafted .... penalized for buying houses and paying cash for college. And don't play the single mother card .... I'm a single mom working two jobs. STOP the free handouts. Make fathers support their children. Take some PRIDE in providing for your family. If you're unemployed, join the Army. If you can't afford diapers, stop smoking and drinking. SELF-DISCIPLINE is an amazing concept.
