Why are the people in this area so stuck in the Stone Age! Obviously many have never been to an NHL or AHL game. All professional sports teams have some sort of cheerleaders or dance squad to keep the crowd entertain between timeouts, periods/halftime or commercial breaks.
Uterus NY clearly has NO shortage of "cheerleaders or dance squads" haha hahaHAHAHAHAHA!!!

So how many months will this latest hockey boondoggle last? I liked the "utica prowlers" at least. Their mascot was fitting for utica- Peeping criminals!
The Canucks will be there one year max. It's going to depend on the utica portion of the team to secure another affiliation. It will probably be a fight for the devils and flames which will allow them to try and suck more money from NYS.

Lil sleazy dancers have nothing to do with hockey. If the team is a quality product that's all that's needed. Anything else is simply anything else. Utica already has great venues for slinky dancers to show their skills. Hockey is hockey. Dancing, prancing and stripping ain't it.

Really what is wrong with people here??? What idiots all riled up over a dance team at a hockey game? How immature and ridiculous is that????? Actually quite funny as well. Every single sports team anywhere everywhere has dance teams/cheerleaders at them that dress up in costumes etc.. and you people act like Utica is the first and only place in the world that will be having this????? What imbiciles and you know what, only you writing all this crap on these forums over something so stupid are the pathetic ones. Seriously, go out and find something constructive to do. There are so many more important things to worry about that something like this. MORONS!!!!!!!!!!

Joey, will you be disappointed if the Comettes not sleazy and turn out to be wholesome family entertainment?

Not at all Frankie, but I still don't see their necessity or relevance to the hockey product on the ice. It's irrelevant if the NHL or other loser AHL teams do it. I may even enjoy their put on, out of context with hockey. I feel the same about football and cheerleaders. Perhaps a good idea back in the 1920's when they actually riled and rowdied the crowd up in support of the team on the field, and not a distracting sideshow unto themselves, which is what it is today. Hey, with the price of tickets to an NFL, NHL or even AHL game, I'd just save my money to play the slots down at adult world if I want to see scanty young chippies bouncing around for my "entertainment" value instead of the sports product on the field or ice...
