Not too long ago I heard of a local company that hired new salespeople, had the seasoned salespeople train them (thinking they were only increasing the workforce). After training them the seasoned employees who were making more money got shitcanned. Doesn't that friggin suck. The new way to cut costs and screw loyal employees.

You think that's bad? A while ago I heard a story about a company that wanted to move 15,000 jobs to Utica but couldn't find a building big enough to house the operation. Now that REALLY sucks, doesn't it.

I wonder how we know it was a corporation. Maybe it was a partnership or something. Can't blame "corporate america" for everything, you know. Sometimes sole proprietorships and partnerships do nasty things, too.

Name the local company please. Nobody knows who you are here on topix. How about the first letter in the company's name. I think I know the company you're talking about.

What'd they do? Tear down the old GE/Lockhead Bldg on French Rd? or Charlestown complex?
Plenty of room at Griffiss site.

It's a company in Rome. One of the guys that got the ax came to my office as a rep for another company. He told me how a few others, after training the new people, were let go. Apparently the newbies didn't know that was the intent. Can't make you feel good about where you work. Business is business and it's all about the money and now you have to be even more careful who and how you train new people.

If you don't like it move to a SOCIALIST country like France where you can work 30 hours a week doing nothing!

At Fiberdyne in Frankfurt, they hire new sales people and have them cold call all day long a list thats generated. The owner gives the new sales people a quota thats very high, after a year they get fired and the few accounts they did open go to the seasoned sales force. Its typical business though, its not what you know it's who you blow

My wife worked at a place where they told her it was a full time job (and as long as you don't quit or get fired). I work at a not related place, but had a co-worker whoses daughter-in law and grand daughter-in-law worked at the same place as my wife. My co-worker told me that my wife was in an off the record 6 month Temporary assignment (as they had a few of these to fill out the crew without paying benifits (long term after 6 monthg benifits).

Sure enough, my wife was let go at the 6 month mark.

Pro Union or not, you cannot ignore the fact that the trend to kill Unions has tracked exactly the same as the stagnation of middle class wages.

Only the 7% of private sector workers who are still Unionized have Pensions.

And our Idiot neighbors have bought into the notion, that if we just take away EVERYONES Benefits and Pensions everything will be equal.

Talk about the Dumbing down of America.

There is no free Market, There is only the Market that we allow to exist by virtue of the Rules and Regulations that we as a Society decide on.
Can you say "WE THE PEOPLE" instead of "WE THE CORPORATIONS"

Dear Idiot, when you accuse someone of a lack of understanding, perhaps you should look in the mirror first. Bill Gates did not make his $billions in a vacuum. He was ALLOWED to incorporate, under The Laws and Regulations established by US. He did not just whip up computers and sell them on the street corner. He utilized the Court system that we all pay for to enforce his Contracts. He utilized a workforce educated by the public schools that we pay for. And he move his goods on the roads that we pay to build and maintain and protect.
When Morons like you repeat the term "FREE MARKET" you are doing the bidding of people who have more wealth than you could ever fathom, and they have that wealth by virtue of living and doing business in OUR COUNTRY!!! IDIOT!
