What is up with bits of plastic bags in their salads from time to time...enough already and correct the issue...WTF..No place else ever has or had this problem from places locally I have ate at. Good thing we caught it when it happened rather than choke on it.

Won't go back until ensured it is not still happening...

I don't like the fact that when you get your lettuce, it's YELLOW or WHITE! It's the crap!

Over this past Christmas, our family went to Delmonico's for a family dinner. One of our members found a piece of burlap bag in his mashed potatoes. He brought it to the server's attention and of course the person in charge came over and apologized. He was given a replacement order of mashed potatoes. Probably from the same batch, as all of ours, that the burlap had been processed with. Oh well.

Apparently the staff cuts the salad pre packed bags open and the piece sometimes falls in the batch. Then its served on a plate and at times the plastic gets in the salad served. I have heard this before from them myself and don't know why its not done a different way. It is weird that this is the only place I have heard this happen in. Just buy your produce fresh and keep it out of bags.

I would not deal with such a place if I personally had it happen to my dinner and would bring it up.

I bet you still ate it anyways. When you call your order in you should be more worried whats done to your chicken the plastic should be the least of your worries. Your the joke when the order leaves.

ordered my favorite tilapia fish. served tilapia that was gray and a bit slimy. portion was dark and tough. you couldn't even cut through it. told the waitress and she said "sometimes that happens". the meal grossed me out. won't order that again...ever!

I have never had a bad meal there. The staff are always pleasant and the food is fabulous. I find it hard to believe someone has this many bad experiences there and I have never had one.

I loved going to symeons and ordering the tilapia...white and flakey. my most recent tilapia experience literally grossed me out. will never order it again. will go back to thracian chicken.

not all the waitresses are on top of their game. ours had a slug, gloomy attitude.

I don't care what restaurant you go to there is bound to have something like that happen. It does not mean that the restaurant is bad or serves bad food. Symeons is a great place to dine. It's packed lunch or dinnertime and the food is delicious. I go there quite often and obviously if I ever did have a problem with anything they would be very apologetic about it and replace it as all restaurants should. Don't try to knock the reputation that Symeons has built in this area. Maybe you are another restaurant owner or worker just a bit jealous of it's popularity?? Could be, however, trying to make it sound like it's a bad place to eat isn't going to go over well as many people know how good it really is there.

I agree with you. Symeons is a good restaurant but my last visits was unpleasant. the fish quality went from top notch to bottom feeder. the waitress could care less except to say "that happens sometime" i won't order it again and if i'm going to be served by miss gloomy, i'll go back to the line and wait to get nancy as my waitress...she's awesome.

I agree that it has gone down hill with food service and quality..The staff looks terrible..the amount of money they fleece from public you would think the owners would provide decent looking dress.

I have heard about the fish going down hill for quality and also I too have heard of the plastic pieces in salads too. Someone could easily choke if accidentally swallowed, but I guess they would offer a half off meal or free meal if that happened though... Good trade off I guess.

The bathroom thing too in line is funny too.

The last few times, the food was great but the waitresses looked and behaved like trailer trash.
Usually I just attribute this to the fact that it's the Utica area, but they were more miserable than usual.
