Complaining about Utica!!

This Stewarts issue is exposing the city administrators and the Boilermaker folks as corrupt. It's too sad that none of them care about us, the people of this city...only themselves. I think they need to put Stewarts in W Utica. If they care about us, the mayor and his administration will realize we need that store here.

We need a political revolution in this city. This Stewart's issue is just another reason why too few have been empoweredd for too long. Support Stewart's where it's needed. It should be on the West end. Why destroy one part if the city just fir 5 minimum wage jobs on Cukver Ave? Just as many people could be hired at a store on Court St. Why should Palmeri hook up his Boilermaker buddy who owns the garage on Culver?
Help the people, Palmeri, Testa, Lomedico and others! Stop helping yourselves!!!

That's the "utes" for ya. The world around them is crumbling, people are leaving, and they quibble about the possible location of a gas station that is only known for its ice cream.

I don't think Stewart's or any other business that has the goal of making a profit cares about the people. It's a business and not a social service.

Rite Aid used to have a store in the heart of downtown. It closed a number of years ago and no other business took its' place. Downtown needs another store like that. The fact that there is none doesn't mean no one cares about the people who work and live in/near downtown. It just means that no store feels they can make a profit great enough to justify a location there.

The mayor and his administration can't force any business to locate in a spot that business doesn't want to and doesn't feel would be profitable. I drove through west Utica this morning. I was on Noyes, Lenox and Court. I have to tell you. I wouldn't start a business there given what I saw there. There is a huge difference between Culver Ave and west Utica.

In fairness to Stewarts, when my daughter was in school we had a fundraiser for a new playground, Stewart's stepped up and helped us with ice cream and gave us cash. That's giving back and they deserve credit for it

Convenient stores are just realty investments the store business is almost secondary. They develop shyt and in 5 years they sell it for more. Pharmacys, stores. Urban sprawl. In that case it's Utica ghetto sprawl.
