i was listening to keeler this morning having a discussion of obamacare. his lack of knowledge of obamacare and health insurance generally was stunning. he was confusing the cancellation of individual health insurance policies with doctors refusing to treat patients who have aca exchange policies. he also appeared completely unaware of any of the provisions of the aca. if you listen to him regularly he, on an almost daily basis, displays incredible ignorance of important issues that he is attempting to discuss.

Keepers a blow hard..Little midget with a really annoying voice.I honestly didn't even know he was still on the air....When he was on years ago on what was it Krock with brad I used to tune into Howard Stern and listen to him all staticy out ta Albany on TheEdge or outta Syracuse on 95x depending on where I was...... The guy is a clown that loves listening to himself talk.....He evidently hasn't gotten a clue that no one finds him amusing , what's this gotta be his 50th different gig around here ? How about that dip shit TV show he had ? That was a real knee slapper ehh Bill ? How many episodes did that last for ? As far as him understanding Obamacare I don't think the guy understands anything but lame jokes that every other DJ from the 70s and 80s did 5000 times over already... His comical value is laughing at what a complete goof he is not that he is actually comical..........

Not a huge Keeler fan but he's doing something right if he keeps getting jobs. I know it's Utica but I'll bet that anyone who's posted on this thread couldn't do his job.

so you listen "on a daily basis" to someone you believe "displays incredible ignorance of important issues that he is attempting to discuss"? wow. what's that say about you? kinda like eating a pound of liver every day even though it make you puke. carry on genius.

I do have to turn the station. Keeler puts down Topixs all the time. What he should be doing is listening to the good and the bad. Keeler, you can be annoying. This past week with clearing your throat, interrupting when people are talking ... it doesn't sound good to the listener. Put your ears where ours are. There's always technical issues .. it's just annoying. On the good side. I adore Keeler. Always have. He is a genius, reinventing himself, over and over. How many of us can say that? He has done a lot of good for the community. He is funny and has a good sense of humor. Need to hear him laugh a little more on the air, lighten up a little. IMO only Bill, I know you read these comments.

With large market radio stations and NPR all streaming, Pandora, iPods, and the internet, local radio programming is the niche of niches. The quality of most local radio isn't that great, but there will always be loyalists and those who tune in out of habit keeping these programs alive. It's a lot like the O-D. Advertisers will still buy ad time because there's still a listener base. But it could be so much better.
But there's not enough demand for it to change.

I don't know if this is true for everybody, but I tune in to a radio show if there's an informed point of view about something, about politics, music, sports. I also have to like spending time with the host. If the host is crass or has an unprofessional radio manner, or is just boring, I'm not wasting my time. And if there's no point of view, it's boring, and I'm not wasting my time.

I just find local radio to be boring. Too bad, because I like radio but there's just no options I like locally.
