Dude. nothing you just mentioned is an attraction. who the hell is gonna come from another town to see genesee st., or the vally view golf course. an attraction is something that attracts people to come here from other parts of the country. is someone form michigan gonna come here to see the fucking trrain station. No, they aren't the only "attraction" this area has is the boilermaker, if you want to call that an attraction. it's one day out of the year where a bunch of people come here. but other than that, there is nothing. those other things you mentioned are things to do. proctor park. is someone from idaho gonna travel to run down shitty utica, n.y. to sit down and have a pic-a-nick (as yogi bear would say) at proctor park. My definition of an attraction is something that a city has to offer that will make people want to come here and see, more than one day out of the year. So what i'm tring to tell you, is that this town sucks big you know what. the original poster was correct. there is nothing here at all.
Well said, lmao. I'm surprised they didnt mention the statues on the parkway

If you people don't like Utica, get out of here and don't complain, obviously you are still here, so find somewhere else to go!!!!!

<quoted text>The several HUNDRED millions of dollars of art at Munson/Pratt..You do know Pratt correct? Also, are you aware that Utica is considered one of the most artichectally (sp) diverse cities in the country? The former Lunatic Asylum is the closest replica to Greek Pillars outside of Greece in the WORLD. If History and architecture appeal to you then Utica is a great Place..The real problem is people are not Happy with themselves, why do you need an "attraction" just enjoy the simple things in life.. I personally use Utica as a homebase to travel. No traffic, nice people, great food, airport 45 min away, CHEAP to live and you can spend you $$ on seeing the world...Granted Utica has seen its hayday as the original "Sin City" and was the Textile Capital of the world before China..but eventually, every city will be past its prime...
If you are not an idiot, you understand why Utica is great. It has good schools, great real estate prices, out door activities, art and colleges. It is a great place to raise a family. Apparently, it should be Orlando. Why would someone from Michigan go to Syracuse, Albany or Rochester? We never held Utica up as a tourist attraction and don't need it to be one. Get a grip.

And yet your elected officials waste dollar after dollar every year to promote tourism. Explain that?
