Please, tell me you're joking.

Forget the pure hilarity of their mutual tax problems. The city's economic development director is consulting with a business that owes millions of dollars to the city?

Even in Utica that takes some huge brass ones.

Leave Bob S. alone. The inside poop is that this announcement along with several other announcements about big time economic development will be coming very very soon. Besides what do you think is going to happen when people all over the area have scheduled their weddings at the Hotel Utica and their rehearsal dinners at another local restaurant? That is going to cause bad problems for brides and grooms and their parents all over. Leave Bob S. alone. He is doing a job.

Ask Attorney Matt about his opinion of Bob Sullivan's and his sister's plan for economic development. I hear he is moving his office to New Hartford.

Bob S.'s sister does not have anything to do with the economic jugernaut being created by him. As a matter of fact she doesn't even get involved in that stuff because she is too busy keeping the City safe. The Mayor knows that it is very important to give those two a lot of room so that they can do great things. Leave those two alone. They are creating the economic jugernaut while all of you complain. Wait and see. Riverside Mall, Bleecker Street Revitalization, the next Standard Charter Bank deal, the Oneida Square Roundabout and an all new and improved Varick Street. Oh yeah, don't forget all of the investment going on on Rutger Street.

What possible draw do they have, inside or outside the area??

OK. He's had 45 days more than he promised. Where's the plan? Where's Dirty Donna's newpaper which allowed its pages to be used as a get out of jail free card for the Hotel Utica bunch?

I know they recently cut hours for a number of full time employees so they could change the classification to part time. By doing so they save on the cost of health care and other beni's

Back in January a proposal was floated to have the Hotel produce, on a quarterly basis, its state tax returns to guage actual income (they always claim poverty) and have the reports made to the council.

Then, a plan was to be drwn up for repayment, with the caveat it can be changed up or down depending on the figures supplied to NYS. When business is good, they pay more, when it slows, they can pay less.

Frank Vescera proposed a very complete packet, all the i's dotted and t's crossed. It was discussed in the dreaded caucus, and Jim Zecca was going to second when it reached the council floor.

BANG-when Frank V. proposed the idea Zecca folded under pressure from Joan S., Frank M. and others.

Nothing has happened since. So don't hold your breath looking for a real, honest to goodness repayment plan.

According to the figures provided by the Hotel Utica itself, both their occupancy rate and average nightly room rate are above the national average.

It's amazing that the property can outperform the majority of hotels in the United States and still lose money.

And just think of what happens to the pee-on's like us if we're late. Wish I can have as much room for bull sh*t like that with my bills.
