is not just they took a class and got certified it is that they played the sport very well and have lots of experiences with all age groups of kids. They also have instructors that help develop skills in certain areas such as fielding, hitting, catching, pitc hing..ITS OBVIOUSLY THE WHOLE PACKAGE DEAL and this is what parents want from an organization..check out the website..my fiends child has gone to clinics at FOD and were very impressed with the knowledge that the organization offered..

I do not believe you are correct here. Other clubs are not invited back either. Hurricanes were initially but declined. Not sure on Naturals and others but I believe they are being phased out as well. There are only two "superclubs" in the ENYTB league from this area. Heat and Pioneers. I do believe a team can go through one of those clubs to be in it. Talk to ENYTB on the specifics on how that works.
Hurricanes were not initially invited back, they broke rules of tampering and were told that they cannot come back. I am not sure what kids they tampered with but they send emails to kids without realizing they are a protected player which is a rule in ENYTB. I agree kids should play wherever they want but in that league that is not the rule.

I have watched them!!! For example, they say well, you hit 250 balls a day. I was watching one kid swing, swing & swing, and still swinging off ther machine. NO COACH was around, period!!!
The kid was swinging comppletely wrong. Nobody there to correct him. Just keep hitting they told him. that kid is getting worse!!!

also, who cares who they coached or played with. i'm just a dad who helps out and i coached high school baseball for 10 yrs!!! Nobody even knows about it. I consider myself alot better than those guys.
you dont get all that stuff from the naturals or pioneers? I think so. Hey, im involved with the pioneers ok, and we couldnt play the naturals for some reason, but I did see them play the hurricanes,(same age level). Their isnt even a comparison of the kids.

Tossed is a matter of opinion. To be tossed implies doing something wrong like Hurricanes did in the league. The FOD Pioneers thing was a powerplay where FOD raised the practice rates by over 50% to just Pioneers teams.

When I was with the pioneers and used the FOD practice facility we had reserved the facility every Sunday morning from 8:30am - 10:30am. The problem is we spent most practice in my car because FOD was locked. Mr. Cook took our money because we wrote checks to him directly and then proceeded to never show up to work on time or have staff to open facility. What kind of business practice is that? Why would anyone associate with a business that operates that way? The money that we spent was virtually stolen. It was theft at every level. We paid for a facility rental and were not allowed to use it because Mr. Cook had to party one would presume. Is that an example to have around children? It looks like others have stated things about the character of the men running things. Why would you defend such actions?

Interesting. Now that the Hurricanes are out because they welcomed kids to play for them that came from other teams, ENYTB has changed the rules so kids can switch. They must have changed their tune since this all went down. Now the "NEW" CNY Stars will be able to pull kids from other teams. Conclusion...the rules that got the Hurricanes removed from the league are no longer in place so the CNY Stars can get players from other teams. Pretty convenient don't you think? P I S S on this ENYTB league? I say this area gets their own thing started. Stop sending money out of the area and putting Naturals, Pioneers, Hurricanes etc. against each other. Put together a friendly league where they all play each other and keep the money here. I guess that is what Bob Cook is tying to do. We should hope it works out now that we can see what the ENYTB league is really all about.
They did start their own league. Go to www.cnytb.com they have over 37 teams in the league on levels 9u-14u. Amazing to me that these 37 teams want no part of that Amazing League in Albany. Ed Smith and Ed Frye are in this together and what makes me laugh is that because Ed Frye listend to Ed Smith he kicked the biggest Travel Club in the area out with 12 teams. Nice job Ed's you guys are smart business men. You take the largest group kick them out, change the rule that would of keep them in the league and then pissed them off to start their own league with teams from Syracuse.... Real Smart guys

It is hard for parents and others to comprehend. You have two different schools of thought. The first is a for profit program and the second is a not for profit program. Baseball is the similarity but the objective is for the profit program to earn a profit and vice versa with non profit which puts every dollar back into the kids thus zero profit. So you are getting the same number of practices, games, close in apparell. So if all programs have 60 kids and we will say that the Hurricanes, Pioneers and Naturals do then we can do a quick comparison on the price per child. Hurricanes in prior year were 1100 round about and other two were around 500 round about. So the difference is 600 per player. So 60 players multiplied by 600 is $36,000. The not for profits could fly their kids to games for that amount of money. I am not saying that what the for profit programs are doing is wrong, all I am saying the money is the driving factor not the players interest. That is your answer for all of your questions, money is the route of all evil.
All of you people are idiots. The Hurricanes are not owned by the Field of Dreams or Bob Cook, if it was it would be bankrupt right now. They have more expenses then you can imagine they have to pay for the Field of Dreams like everyone else in fact they pay more because they give every single kid a 1-year memebership, and your so called not for profit is a joke. Those coaches are not paying for their kids that means they are making money to coach those teams as well you think they are paying for the gear they wear as well. You people make me laugh and you are like everyone else miss informed and a hater.

Hey big shot, how much does it cost per player to play, how many hurricane teams, how many players per team, how many games do they play??
Give me the #'s and I'll tell ya what they are making because joe milazzo is not doing this for the kids... He is doing it cause he is getting paid! Run the #'s. lets just say $500 per kid x 12 kids per team=$6000! Lets just say 12 teams x $6000=$72000! There are more than 12 teams cause they added softball and the travel teams pay way more than $500 per kid. You are probably looking at fod, bob, joe pulling in $100,000-120,000 grand.

In terms of the previous post, that was some interesting math and accounting there. You showed all the revenue side of the equation but failed to mention the expense side of the equation. Lights, heat, maintenance of FOD isn't free. Also, purchasing baseballs, paying for umpires, uniforms, catchers equipment eats into that revenue.

I'm not saying they aren't profiting/being paid for their time, because it is clear they are. But, it isn't anywhere near the amount you are suggesting.

To the previous poster who said "All of you people are idiots. The Hurricanes are not owned by the Field of Dreams or Bob Cook,", you are not completely accurate. There is a very fine line between Bob, FOD, and the Hurricanes. On paper it might be one thing but anyone close enough to the inside knows without FOD there is no Hurricanes and Bob's roll within Hurricanes is significant. Again, not saying it is bad or wrong to have that relationship but be clear that it totally exists.
