Don't be so easily duped. Snow days are being saved to be added to spring break, as usual.
Unfortunately, they cannot be added to spring break.

I believe they do use left over snow days at the end of the year, not sure if it is spring break, but they do use them.

I know our kids would have a four day weekend for Memorial weekend with an unused snowday.

Hey Gandalf, good to see you again. I wanted to tell you how sorry I was about your niece turning your marriage proposal down. I guess that was what made you so bitter about others, but life goes on.

You have obviously never been to Florida.

The bottom line is, one child is dead and his brother will live with that for the rest of his life. Used to be that the Highway Superintendents and the School Superintendent discussed road conditions before a decision was made, so I guess the highway people have to be blamed also. If school was closed, chances are the kids would have headed for out of town anyway instead of staying home, I know that we did. The school "super" has no control over the driving habits of his/her students while off school grounds, therefore, how can he/she be blamed? How many students, who drove to school that day, made it without incident? Is it possible that driver error was involved? The way to stop all of this is to make every student ride the bus. With gas between $3.50 and over $4.00 a gallon, driving to school by a student is a waste of fuel and very expensive.

I graduated in the '50s and haven't been back since. My children went to different school systems, so I had no reason to go back. I'll tell you this much though, I carried a pocket knife to school every day and so did most of my male classmates. The girls carried nail files. Nobody ever got stabbed by anyone. During hunting season we stored our hunting clothes and firearms in our cars in the school parking lot, because many of us went hunting before and after school. Our feel good, liberal society has changed all of that; along with the emasculation of the American male by an effete Government and bearded ladies.

It wasn't the feel good, liberal society that made the changes. It was those of us living in the world of reality.

I'll tell ya. I didn't use to be for home school, but after that Connecticut incident, I think twice about it.

How did your world of reality come about? Lack of discipline at an early age, lack of respect because a kid couldn't be disciplined, liberal teachers who told students how to get away with crap that would've had me grounded for a year and instant, feel good. Whether you like it or not, liberalism IS the cause of all of our modern day problems. Entitlements have made the USA weaker and more effete. Live with it because you condoned it.

There is a lot to be said for what "just me" is saying. We have become a very spoiled society. No more is it a one car family, me included. At one time, if you wanted to drive, you could only drive after your father came home from work, and it was for a limit of time. Or you got a job, and had to buy your own car. Now, everyone has a car, and most of the time, we buy the car for our kids. There is a direct lack of discipline these days, I think most would agree with that, and it shows. No more are we taught to own up to our own responsibilities. You are told, "yes, you were wrong, but the reason you did this was because, you have this, that or the other thing". We are handed excuses as to why we do things, and ignore the real issue.
A lot of kids, years back had A D D, the only name they had for that then was, lazy, and you had to do it. I am not saying there aren't extreme cases, because there are. But now it is an excuse. My daughter told me that her teacher asked this boy in school, "why didn't you do this work"? And he told her it was because he had A D D, and didn't have to do it.
We went from one extreme to the next, and it isn't getting better!
It isn't OUR shortcomings and failures we are afraid of.

She did assess the situation and made the right call not to cancel. Accept it. Unless you were in her mind that morning, then you have no idea whether she considered the weather.
Is that simple enough for a simpleton like you?
Did you enjoy bullying people when you were a kid? I can see you didn't get any better at it in your old age.
Oh wow. You got it. Finally. She was wrong in her decision. That is why we are upset. Or that Is how we feel.

Ranting? Bullying? Not. Stating our concerns over and over again to you hard headed people who just keep making up your own stories, comments, and ignorant remarks to what we are trying to saying.

But no far to many people in here "think" they are smart, so witty. And have a right to flame someone for speaking out their concerns for the safety of their children.

Bully. Far from it. Your definition is wrong. I see more of that coming from your side.

Whatever, done with all if you nasty jump down the throat people. I will see you at the board meeting. You will definitely know me when you hear me voice my concerns.
