I'm thinking about leaving New York. I like the central New York area but our politicians are killing us. It doesn't make sense for a business or working person to stay here.

I love snowmobiling, ATVing and teh outdoors so I'm looking at Wyoming and New Hampshire. What states are you looking at and why?

New Hampshire does NOT have any sales tax and the economy is thriving. You won't have any problem in finding a job.

Negatives are - homes are much more expensive than they are in Utica (4 room apts. start at $1,400 a month) and their laws are much stricter than here in NYS.

If I could move out of Utica, I would head South - N. Carolina.

I'd probably head to Wyoming. Its as close as you're gunna get to the "wild west" and its pretty rural throughout most of the state. Its kinda like going back in time a little. If you hunt theres a bigger variety of game, it does get rediculously cold and windy though so buy warm outdoor gear.

Aren't you the same poster who in the past has been all about the unions, especially the public sector unions? You aren't going to find a place in the US that is friendlier to unions than New York. Of course that is unless you are now retiring and want a place to take your taxpayer supplied pension to.

Bummer. I came here hoping to see Utica34 telling us about how he is moving out of NY.

Move to Maine. One of the highest % of whites. Crime rate is low and plenty of snowmobiling up north. Finding a decent job might be an issue though.

I don't care where you go, but there are alot of people around here you can take with you that wouldn't be missed. But they would still have to post on Utica topix, seems they just can't cut there ties to Utica. I really don't get that. It must be boring everywhere else.

It's like looking at a really bad car accident. You know you shouldn't look...you don't want to look...but you can't help yourself.
