This drives me nuts. Why are they being tipped for doing their jobs? No other fast food places do this!

if they "Deserve it" for doing their job. then I guess we have to tip everyone at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, the cashiers at grocery stores, Walmarts, the drug stores and ANYBODY that does THEIR job .

as soon as somebody tips me for doing what MY EMPLOYER already PAYS me to do.........I'll start to tip them

I've never once tipped a Dunkin' Donuts employee. It used say at the bottom of the menu, "No Tipping" but that never stopped the slugs that worked there from putting out a jar labeled "TIPS". I'm sure the only money that was in there was money the employees put in there themselves to guilt customers into dropping change in it.

Is there still a "No Tipping" sign up?

You're complaining about the cup that they have on the counter for spare chage and accuse others of being dumb fcks wasting time??????????here's a quick, since you seem like you don't like to wate time, solution. rthe next time you go to DD, pay for your coffee and when they give you your change, put it right in your pocket. Unless you feel compelled to give some minimium wage working class person a little tip just because your a nice person. And maybe it will help their life just a little..........And no I don't work there, or know someone that does, or work in a coffe shop, or make min wage, blah, blah, blah.

I am with you on this one!
IF they made wait staff wage I could understand however they are hired at mimimum wage or more and now what the deal is upfront.
the dunkin in washington mills area NEVER gives you napkins in the drive thru I always have to ask for one with my food. Here's your tip DD workers include a napkin with the food at the drive thru (and empty the garbage can in the drive thru lane its always over flowing!)

well I always tip since I am too lazy to make a cup of coffee for my self in the morning and on my way to work I have someone that makes minimum wage do it for me yeah ...the least I can do is leave a dollar tip and if it bothers you so much I think you need some serious mental help

Hey Jenny, the DD employees still think your cheap bi tch, how about coughing up a few more $$ in the tip cup, come on you can afford it. every time you come in,you certainly act like your much better then the minimum wage people that wait on you. how bout you get your lazy as s up a little earlier next time and make your own coffee

Listen, I'm a better tipper than 90% of you yahoos! My question remains. Why them? No one else in the retail or service industry does this. If you're so willing to tip the folks working those type jobs, shouldn't you tip at other places where the employees aren't comfortable putting out a cup! When was the last time you did that, you Hipocrite? I'm afraid you missed me last time around!

Huh, last time I checked they were there because they chose to be. I dont think Dunkin Donuts went to them begging for their service. So we should tip someone who chose to a job? Regardless of minimum wage, if you're unhappy and begging for tips, it's time to better yourself. Putting a cup out for extra cash is the lazy way out of progressing your life

I no longer tip at the drivethru since they started to count the change I gave them before giving me my order, this makes me feel as if they expect that I might short them and drive off!

yeah these KIDS make minimum wage. that's what i made when i was 16 or 17 & i was happy to get that. if they didn't charge so much for a cup of coffee, i'd probably put my change in their cup. i don't like wondering what's in my coffee, once i ordered a decaf with 2 equal, i actually saw the girl put in 2 sweet n low instead. you work in a coffee place, don't you know the difference? some people can't have that sweet n low stuff. anyway, i go to fasttrack on river road.$1.07 for my refill that's equal to about 3 small DD's. quit being snobs, coffee is coffee!!!

Ok first. Dunkin Donuts isn't a fast food place, it is a coffee place! I don't know a specific reason why they have a tip jar, but thats what they do so if you don't like it then don't tip them!! In my personal opinion, anyone who has to deal with the general public should receive bonus pay for having to deal with the things that customers to! Unless you ever worked directly with the public (Dunkin Donuts, food places, retail, etc.) you have no idea what a person has to put up with!!!
