Over-crowded and filthy. Too affordable. The wrong "element" goes there.

It's too bad they had to get rid of the Brookside. Plant Fitness sucks. Well I guess its not so bad if you want to be working out with 17 yr old westside kids.

must be going to a different gym. I see all kinds of people 30-60 there. Rarely if ever have I seen these 17 year old westside kids you speak of.

I can go on forever about planet fitness. Waterboy is right. There are all kinds of people who work out there. The thing is they call themselves a "Judgement Free Zone" and talk about how there is no critics, yet when you walk in there is a bodybuilder with a no smoking sign around him. So there whole judgement free zone with no critics is total bs. They say this is because they don't want anybody to feel uncomfortable around others who are lifting heavy weight. People go to the gym for different reasons, and if you cannot lift the same amount of weight as the individual next to you then that should give you more motivation to reach your goals. If you get depressed over this then I have no answer for your problems. The only reason I can say I go there is because I bring my buddy with me everyday so I can have a workout partner. The only good quality the gym has is their low rates. It's a great gym for many, but not for all....

I've been inside Planet Fitness clubs in the Philadelphia and Baltimore areas and they are much nicer. Less crowded, cleaner (and better) equipment and locker rooms and monthly memberships run in the $100-$150 range. I'm confused as to why the Planet Fitness Clubs in New Hartford are practically giving away memberships, but you are right that it has attracted the wrong element.

But, then again, doesn't every gym in this area attract the "wrong" element? When I was a student at Utica College the swimming pool and exercise rooms which were supposed to be for students and members only were teeming with homosexual perverts who liked to ogle at people as they worked out. The students who manned the sign-in stations never bothered to ask for anybody's ID or membership card and hence they were indirectly contributing to the problem.

I've decided to remain fat and out of shape until I move to a bigger city.

Wrong "element" is my phrase and I didn't mean rainbow people. I meant low life scums who are probably on welfare.

I like planet fitness just fine. My goal was to work out, and that was accomplished. I always got a treadmill, and onto the machines I wanted. The restrooms and changing areas were clean. I didn't renew my membership simply because I am saving some money and working out at home.

Yea, for a lot of people Planet Fitness is a great gym. More than enough treadmills, machines that are easy and effective all around the gym. But for the people who want to build muscle and take their workout experience to the next step, it's an awful gym. Like I previously said, the only good thing about it is that it's extremely cheap and you can bring a guest at any time with a black card membership. Also, with the thousands of members that they have, it would be nice to have working machines, because I run into a (NOT IN SERVICE) sign 1/2 the time i'm there.

AND MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT
- Judgement Free Zone
- No Critics
....Yet, they judge bodybuilders and individuals who are there to build muscle and take steps forward!
