I'm in my early 40s (divorced) and have lived on my own for 20 years. However, my aging parents have no intention moving. They have a big house, pool and hot tub. After child support, I have very little to live on which is making homeowner ship more difficult. I'm selling my house now and moving home with mom and dad to assist them in their later years. They took care of me now I'm doing for them. In addition my young child will have access to a pool etc. it's a win win. In addition I can take my savings to pay for his college.

That's what family is for - love, help, friendship and support. It's only called sponging if you look at it that way. Would you rather adults who are dependent on their parents be dependent on the government instead? We all know how that turns out. I know some parents who kick their kids out of the house when they turn 18 and others who let their children live at home until they die or move into a nursing home. Every family has different values.

Would not trade the time I had after my divorce for anything. Moved in with mom and dad. They have since passed but those final days are now memories. They were there for me and my kids. Glad I could be there for them.

This reads more like: "I screwed up so much, spread my legs and got knocked up, he was allways an asshole but I knew it and lived with it, but then he left for some coochie half his age and now I'm stuck here alone, so it's back to leaching off my parents until they go, then I get it all." You are a Whitesboro mom?

First off this sounds like a man wrote about moving home with parents. Second, what he says makes absolute sense. People on here are idiots. Everyone is always so negative.

Why does this bother you? Your parents won't let you live with them? It's really none of your business who lives with whom unless you are paying for it.

I never mentioned anyones living arrangements. Do you have a problem with reading and comprehending words? You are not smart enough to use topix. Go back to your room in mommys basement and play with your paper and crayons.
