Woolworth's counter, Kewpie's, Wittig's. The Chuck Wagon in New Hartford - best Banana Splits!. The Buy Bee in Washington Mills. Voss's (still). In Whitesboro - can't remember name...

What about restaurants? Tony's Spaghetti House, Tony Sparagna's, Pelleterri Joe's, Nofri's. The one on Albany with the great steak sandwiches.

I can picture 'em, just can't quite remember the names.

"Emils" which much later became the "Bearded Dolphin" had great fish frys at one time. The "11th Ward Hotel" and "Tinys" had KILLER limburger sandwiches. JEANS BEANS mentions "Wynotts", I think he/she means "WynDotts" that used to face a drive-inn theatre on Campion Rd. Does that sound accurate ?
"Chips" on Arnold Ave ? "White Tower" fries, the best !

Deidre,

I believe you're right that there was a "Wydotts" back then, but there also was a "Wynotts" on Seneca Turpike where the "Hook," now soon to be the new "Dunkin Donuts" is. They were famous for their hamburgers, while "Gene's Chili Hut" was for their hot dogs.

How about "Losurdo's Pizza Villa" on the truck route, and "The Golden Teapot," that later became "Vincents."

Yep, on North Genesee.

Imagine, all the wonderful places we had with such great food and yet we were not an overweight society. I guess we could start a new thread about the outdoor games we used to play....

King Cole's! My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs Lamb from Hughes, took us on a field trip to Grand Union and then bought us all ice cream cones - I thought she must have been rich! They only cost 15 cents back then and our class size was 35 kids.
