SUNYIT invests a lot in its dorms and campus because the academics are 5th rate (on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being Harvard and 5 being SUNYIT). SUNYIT uses its state dollars from SUNY to build fancy condo-style dorms with tennis courts high on a hill overlooking the Mohwak Valley. The college looks to recruit 5th rate students with its campus and dorms rather than its academic programs. Trust me, academics will be one of the last things on the minds of prospective students checking out SUNYIT. Just look at how all of the academic buildings (there are 2 of them) are huddled together at the bottom of the hill next to the puny library, while the sprawling dorm villages are nearly half-a-mile uphill where the gym, meal hall and hiking tails are.UC is not an IVY SCHOOL never will be SUNYIT only took 3 out of 10 student for its freshmen class ave gpa was 90% or better
UC goes to NYC and offers everything and takes everbody
SUNYIT is the one of the best schools in the area and will grow to likes of collgate and hamilton
UC will go down to a school like devry
So all you UC ALUM save your dollars or give to a better school LIKE SUNYIT WILDCATS RULE
The architects must have planned the school figuring that, if the academic programs ever fall through, the campus could always be turned into a for-profit apartment/hotel community.
