a house on the corner of prospect ave and second street in ilion ny. the house there is so haunted that one night about 40 years ago, the whole police dept was there to investigate what they thought were teenagers inside a home when residents were away. everyone saw what looked like activity behind the window shades and heard music. cops over the bullhorn shouted for them to come out. then noise came from a covered boat in back yard. spotlights on boat and what looked like about a 9 foot tall dude dressed in a vintage uniform from the 1700's or so rose up out of the boat and disppeared. no one from the cop shop likes to talk about that night, but i was there and observed the action!
Who ever wrote this is nuts! I lived next to that very home for nearly 25 years. There is no back yard (it butts up to another home) and I know 3 of the previous owners dating back to the very late 1950's early 1960's! This event never happened!

how was that experience for you? seems crazy
Who ever wrote this is nuts! I lived on next to that very home for almost 25 years. My parents even longer and we knew everyone who lived in that home from the late 1950's till 2000. There is no "back yard" as the home butts up to two equally old homes including my old one.

Utica Asylum was where our team conducted an investigation a little while back. We got some interesting results. You can see some of our photos here http://www.nyshadowchasers.com/evidenceOC.htm... We've also conducted a few other paranormal investigations around central new york that you can also find on our site. We're looking to make some contacts in the area and also let people know about the Utica Psychic Fair on March 20-21st (also on our news page). Come by and meet us.
The building pictured is not the old asylum.
Glad to see you didn't go inside.
NYS Office of Mental health is very protective of their property and strict about cameras. Better get permission!!!

Well there are a couple of things I would like to address.
First-Clarification of the RIPS. My Group is Abbreviated RIP Activity. It stands for Real Investigators of Paranormal Activity, hence the R.I.P. Activity www.ripactivity.com . The other RIP is a group from Rome, NY Rome Investigators of the Paranormal. I have not worked with them and can not comment on them or there experience etc. My only knowledge of them is I ran into the founderís girlfriend and she spoke highly about the group. So Yes there are two R.I.P's Acronyms I know but two separate groups. RIP Activity is a business with a DBA as well. Secondly- to terryfied if you need help please contact us and we can do what we can to assist you. Thirdly-if you are a skeptic or have negative comments or concerns feel free to challenge and question me. I encourage anyone to partake and disprove or prove the existence of the paranormal to themselves. I can provide the venue and the training and instruments. You just need to provide the gumption to go on an actual investigation. Confused confused-TAPS is a very good group that has done a huge part in bringing exposure to the paranormal world. As far as being a TAPS wannable, I couldnít disagree with you more. RIP Activity is a professional group that will continue to push the envelope and find a connection with the afterlife. Not all of you will agree but for those of you who do feel free to contact me.
Thank You
Greg Jones
