I know the Albany Hill area- grew up there. Albany Hill and Wilson Rd. are most definitely haunted. As a matter of fact, Albany Hill was built on an old indian burial ground. There also was an underground railroad on Albany Hill. Wilson Rd. is spooky, it used to be all old farm land before all the houses got built. I would NOT live there again!! After moving away from there I still get creeped out when I go up that way. I know about the old school house on the corner of Wilson and Graffenburg. There used to be another one on the corner of Albany and Wilson but it was taken down.

Alot of eerie things have been known to happen up there. A lady seen walking the hill at night wearing white, a man from the mob was thrown over the falls on Wilson Rd, etc. We have had many experiences up there. Also, the cemetary on Wilson Rd. in that patch of trees is sooo old. What about the over-turned tombstones on Albany Rd. by the corner of Wilson Rd?? Apparently someone was building where people were buried which is terible in my opinion to disturb the dead. I could go on and on...

Regarding Star Hill...I have met the man who lives up there. VERY nice older man and harmless. That's the truth!!

Correction: I was just told by an older family member it was a woman who was murdered and dumped over Butternut Falls on Wilson Rd. It was said to be mob related.

I don't know the name of the woman. Does anyone else know anything more about this?

Believe me, there was not an underground railroad( per say) on Albany Street. The old farm house that belonged to the Raymonds years ago was one of the homes that was used by the slaves during their escape journey to Canada. I was actually in the cellar of that home and saw the tunnels that went from the home into the wooods. As kids we used to be in those things all the time- They actually went under a pond that was in the backyard. Eventually, the house was sold and then it burned down - with the loss of a mother and a daughter. They were trapped inside. Very sad.

Yes, the tunnel went under the pond. Maybe it wasn't an underground railroad, but it was a tunnel for the slaves.

a house on the corner of prospect ave and second street in ilion ny. the house there is so haunted that one night about 40 years ago, the whole police dept was there to investigate what they thought were teenagers inside a home when residents were away. everyone saw what looked like activity behind the window shades and heard music. cops over the bullhorn shouted for them to come out. then noise came from a covered boat in back yard. spotlights on boat and what looked like about a 9 foot tall dude dressed in a vintage uniform from the 1700's or so rose up out of the boat and disppeared. no one from the cop shop likes to talk about that night, but i was there and observed the action!
Sweet I live right down the street from that house. Does anyone live there now? If so, do you know who? I would def. like to do some investigating if they would allow it.
