1- aud looked great, everyone i talked to was impressed
2- video boards and new sound system were excellent additions nice pre game video, the wktv/ comets part was great!!
3 food was a hugh improvment, my kids got tenders and fries and loved them, Sammy and his staff did a great job!!
4- Tom coyne needs to stop screaming, it is a new sound system, you dont need to scream and while your at it try not to eat and talk at the same time.
5- they can turn the volume down a notch or two, my ears are still ringing, on the flip side theres no way in hell anyone will fall a sleep
6- promotions and fan interaction was unbielevable, kiss cam, t shirts between periods, trivia with the kid, pizza give away. commettes girls. it all worked.
7- would have liked to see more replays of penalties and goals, but its a new system. will take some getting used to, they will get better.
8- team looked good, nice uniforms, devils pretty much stifled the comets. wasnt much room to operate. this tteam will need 20-30 games before they jell.....
9- didnt see much reason for the upd to block off half the city, two blocks would have been sufficient.
10- liked the season ticket holders go in first.

overall A+ for them comets and their staff!!!!

cant help you with that one, i went inside before they played. they did sing the national anthem, but the mic didnt work, and the crowd took over....... really one of the few glitches all night. but it is a new sound system.

Good feedback.

The video boards looked fantastic. I was originally disappointed that they didn't go with a video scoreboard at center ice but these are so much larger than you can put into a scoreboard the end result was even better.

Much more food variety in the concessions.

There is supposed to be an Irish Pub opening in about a month that I am anxious to see.

All of the extra advertising throughout the Aud looks great.

The only negative that I have is that I thought some of the money was going to be spent on upgrading the public bathrooms which are unchanged and inadequate for when they get crowds of 3000+ in there.

Agree with the feedback given here. Especially agree that the volume was too loud and needs to be adjusted back just a bit.

Also -- the mics did not work for the National Anthem, but what a moment that turned out to be. The crowd took over and sang ~ it was great!

See comment on Comettes post- I agree with all these comments, BUT...you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Bottom line-better product On the ice, not off.

weel they are trying to make improvments, but they simply did not have time to do anything as far as bathrooms. there are also codes that need to be kept, that has been a major issue. its alot better than it was, gotta work with what they have.

The Aud is still a 4th class dump, the team couldnt beat a pee wee team, and the Comettes are sluts. Save your money and stay home.

Too many folks moving around during play. Basic rule-Don't go to or leave your seat until there is a stoppage. Needs to be addressed if it continues. Lots of first timers< i guess or just ignorant folks.
Bathrooms will kill return business for non hard core fans. A first time female fan who had to wait on that line for 20-30 min won't be back. Mens room tends to be a unique experience. Seems to be a contest who can scream the loudest. Guess those with the smallest...nah, can't say it.
Other that that, place looked great. 5$ for a beer wasn't bad.(might explain some of the bathroom issues)Merchandise, on the other hand, was very expensive.
Season tickets in Syracuse for the past 10 years, but the drive home after the games had ne go with Utica this season. If the two venues were side by side Utica would be in second place. That being said, if some of the bathroom issues are addressed, that would change.
The video experience and scoreboard were better, imho, than Syr. The cheerleaders/dance team were better, too. Those girls didn't stop all night!

Great job, not perfect but nicely done! The chicken fingers and fries sucked, plus they only offered bbq sauce or catsup. Prices were fair, 50/50 was over $6000,yes 6k! They used a nice hand held system that simply printed a receipt with your ticket #'s. Most important is the on ice product. This is a team that on skill level alone will be competitive every game. These are pro players on their way up, not out. We all want to win, regardless the entertainment value is there on a losing night.

Good points about the bathrooms and I hope they get addressed in the future upgrade plans for the Aud. I don't think it will be as bad the rest of the season but they do need to be improved and expanded. Opening night being a complete sellout plus many people drinking hours before the game at the fan fest did put a strain on the bathrooms. They are not going to sellout every game and the fan fest was a one time thing.

yes there were alot of people moving around, but alot of that is connected to drinking at fan fest and the bath room issues. there are some bathrooms down stairs, maybe they can be used. hopefully the can ad some when the do the suites and new rear enterance. also the bathrooms need seperate enterance and exits to keep traffic going in one direction.

the ahl has a rule that no one can go back to their seat while play is going on. The ushers didnot do their jobs. You can leave your seat during play. And now that i think about it, there were no food service in the areana during the game. When the devils were here they went around selling beer and dogs in the arena like at a baseball game.

well they seemed to turn the volume down for the crunch game, that was bearable. tom coyne is a disaster, announcing the first goal we had no clue wtf he was screaming. then he actually re announced the goal in a manner that everyone could understand. bathrooms are a Hugh issue, but i timed my breaks to during the national anthem and before the end of the 2nd period. idk what they could do, but the building is just to small for 3500 people, maybe they can bump out the outer concourse twenty feet and add food stands and bathrooms on the out side. 3600 fans and a couple hundred of them were crunch fans. great game, comets came ready to play even though they had two players called up. 1-1 tie and lost the xtra point in the shootout. comets can skate with any team in this league, but you can see how un-confident and in-experiancedthey are, crunch took over in the third period. goalie was excellent, hope they start erickson again tonight!!

i think we will be closer to 3000 tonight, hunting season opens today, im having a hard time finding people to go tonight..... coyne is a mess, at the home opener he never introduced the comets starting goalie, tonight he was tripping over his tongue at the end of the game, announced three starts and the players wernt ready to go on ice. this clown is a mess...... game was great, comets will be good once they get some confidence. a loss in a shootout against a calder cup finalist last year!!! gonna be fun to watch this group of players slowly improve into a winner!!!
