You mean the Xaverian Brothers, not the Jesuits, but you get the drift.

MY oh my! Here it is 2014 and people still believe in a dead religion, worse actually believe what they tell them, It may be true, because not many follow these Jesuits anymore, now the truth is coming out- http://www.ianpaisley.org/article.asp...

Ask the one in your church if he is a Jesuit. And why? is a pope in place without a death? He, also is a Jesuit, the 1st in a very long time.

Folks are shelling out high property taxes, especially in Utica , Why pay twice for an education? With jobs going out left and right-people are forced into leaser paying employment and the middle class is becoming a thing of memory. Not many can afford it anymore.

If you want to send your kids to ND, good for you. What aggravates me is the logic you use to justify your decision. I will be the first to admit that a good student will do well at ND. What I wonít agree with is that this same student wouldnít do just as well at any public school. Spending $5000 a year to educate your kid at ND seems like a waste of money to me. I used to hear people claim that NDís religious schooling was the primary reason for sending their kids there. But that is not what Iím hearing anymore. What is continuously touted is graduation rates and college attendance. Neither of these arguments holds water. Regardless, if it is your decision to throw your money away at ND, so be it.

On a side note. There are no metal detectors at Proctor. Along with most of the other unsubstantiated rumors you hear about Proctor, this one is baseless.

Yah and with all the money you spent at that $hithole, you could of taken your family in a nice vacation every yr and your kids would have still went to good colleges. Kids are a reflection of their parents for the most part. U spent money for something that you could've got for free. Who's smarter???

Ever heard of satire? I was responding to a removed comment by the person who started this discussion and bailed. He said he overheard something in church about ND. Hence my comment

Why would it aggravate you? What does it have to do with you? Why is this your business?

ND offers a different atmosphere than Proctor. This isn't about who wins a contest. It's about parents sending their children where they think their children will benefit most from the education. If parents who have the money and think ND offers something better for their children then how is it you think your opinion should override that?

Graduation rates and college attendance rates are objective measures that are used in evaluating how well a school is fulfilling its' mission to educate children. By that measure ND is doing well. I guess your theory is that those same children would do well wherever they went. That's impossible to know for sure. I have a theory too. My theory is that if a voucher system was instituted where tax money followed a student to the school of their parent's choice, ND would have a waiting list. It's just a theory but in other places like New York City that is the way it has played out.

I went to Catholic Schools for 12 years. Not the classy UCA or ND either! I went to St. Francis DeSales of the Hood :) I had an Average IQ, but a severe Learning Disability that was ignored. No Special Ed services. No appropriate testing, I also was the victim of physical and verbal abuse because I was labeled "Stupid and Lazy". I fortunately, after 2 false starts, went to College. There, even though I worked my ass off, I encountered Educators who had the caring and concern to find me the appropriate assistance to catch me up from my 12 years of Catholic "Education". I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Masters Degree from Syracuse University. I fortunately now am able to help other Learning Disabled individuals to reach their full potential. Although I received virtually nothing as far as Academics from Catholic School I did learn how NOT to treat others. I also learned that the Religious are not necessarily Spiritual, and are most certainly not to be trusted. MSGR.SEAWALL, may he rot in hell with the rest of the pedophile priests! BTW, Notre Dame has 100% Graduation rate! So did my school, but ask the graduates how well they were prepared for college. I don't care if ND closes or not. Parents can continue to spend $5,000 so our Cornhill kids don't kick their kids asses! If there were any typos or grammatical errors in his rant, please excuse me. I work a 12 hour day and am a bit fatigued! Best of luck and best wishes to all who read my post! I very rarely visit Topix. Enjoy your Spring and Summer!

The Principal to ND has been alienating the regular paying parents to make the elite families and the inner city free ride kids happy. The end of the school year can't come quickly enough

Yeah, ND only has administration approved student to student poisonings right in the cafeteria--definitely small potatoes compared to pushing and shoving in line at Proctor....

When was the last time Sr. Anna mae told the truth? 5 or 6 decades ago?/ Let us not forget the infamous reign of pedo-priest Sewall who banged at least 15 boys repeatedly right there in the school( a few in the chapel) AFTER he had been sent away by the diocese for the same offenses. How long ago was that? ASK his victims and see if the length of time matters to them. The fact that it happened is unfathomable and the fact that it is still happening in all parts of the world is heinous. This pedo-priest still has his picture hanging in that school. Ask his victims what they think of that. BTW, there are fights at ND. I have witnessed them. They get covered up just like Sr. Anna covers up all the other dirty little episodes of drug use, alcohol use, and sexual abuse in the bathrooms that is still going on. Sr. Anna Mae is the perfect principal for that place. She covers up all the illegal things the kids do, all the violence and all the sexual predation up there better than a cat covers up shit. She's a perfect fit hand-picked by the Catholic Church. Gee, I wonder why?

you sound like an insider with inside information. all you have to do is prove that what youre saying is true. people say all kind of things. you need to go to the police and the news with this.
