So what is the answer to all of this crap going on in our world lately? Mental health reform? Gun control? Preparing for race wars? Consider and discuss.

Education, REAL education is your only hope. Forget that fact at your own peril.

God and faith have always been the answer. When you take away the foundations that this country was built upon and you allow a war against Christianity to continue - you have out modern day society.

America was established on the belief of a higher superior power. Now you have Atheists and many others who believe they are superior to god! Once people start acting this way, it's all over!

Actually, murders, violence and gun crimes in the us are down well considerably below what it was 50 years ago.

Religion has caused more deaths in worldwide wars than all other causalities combined. Religious people are often nice on the surface, but ironically they are usually the very first to judge. The bible has dozens of verifiable contradictions and fallacies. It exists to exploit the ignorant and needy. Just sayin.

how many athiests have gone batshit and started shooting up schools and malls and such? Its usually the crazy religious fools that do these things. I guess years of believing in an imaginary being really took it out of them. When a kid has an imaginary friend its cute to a point, but lets say the kid has this imaginary friend til they're 10 or 12, ppl think its weird and want to medicate the kid, but noone thinks its weird that all these adults have an imaginary friend that they believe talking to will give them answers and lead them through life? Why?

I dont really know what the solution is, thats just a question I've had for awhile and thought I'd throw it out there.

Unless someone develops a device where the mentally ill cannot go on and off of their meds whenever they get the urge mental health reform won't do anything, however it would be nice if the ones who would accept treatment could get it. Gun control isn't the answer because that just gives the criminals an upper hand. Criminals aren't going to be turning in their unregistered weapons and changing their ways.

They could so something useful and change the laws to something other than a bed and 3 squares a day for convicted criminals.

The greatest black women in the USA.

Cassandra Elyse Norwood was charged with murder and booked into the Athens-Clarke County jail Friday morning. Stabbing her new born over a 100 times to death.

Must have been a warlock.

Gun control this latest idiot was an ex con legally can't own a gun, therefore his were illegally obtained. That is why gun laws are useless people who do this kind of thing don't give two shitz about laws, gun laws only hurt those that follow them. I say mandatory civil confinement for those deemed unsafe just as they do for sex offenders.

We need to reverse the trend of Income Inequality, and narrow the gap between the Rich and the Poor to where it was before the ravages of "trickle down" economics, or All Social Ills will continue to increase.

Not logical. If they WERE the answer, we would have been living in Paradise for thousands and thousands of years.

People need reality, which is the exact opposite of faith. Faith deludes. We need education and compassion.

The answer from "Truth" seems right.

Religion has as an objective to control a society and establish uniformity.

"Believers" seek one another out for happiness and comfort.

With skepticism and lack of faith, cohesiveness of society by definition breaks down.

What are you left with? Believing in government? Believing in yourself?

I make so many mistakes each day and there's so much exposure of corruption in our government that there's nothing left to build a foundation on.

Family is what I'm focusing on - teenagers are so rewarding!( a little sarcasm here)

A P E S kill on Christmas.

As most of Houston focused on the happy details of an unseasonably warm Christmas Eve, the families of Jimmie Norman and Terry Taylor were stunned by the fallout from a routine traffic stop that became a deadly confrontation Monday morning.

Both were shot to death in a southwest Houston parking lot for reasons that no one pretends to understand.

Norman, a corporal with the Bellaire Police Department and a 24-year law enforcement veteran, was mortally wounded following a brief struggle with a young man who had sped away when Norman pulled him over for a traffic violation. Seconds later, Taylor, the owner of a Maaco body shop, was shot by the same suspect when he emerged from the shop to see what the commotion was about.

The 21-year-old suspect, Harlem Harold Lewis, was shot during a gunfight with other Bellaire officers at the scene. Police say he ran away but a trail of blood led to his nearby hiding spot beneath a truck, where he was arrested and taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. He was charged with capital murder of a police officer and was listed in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive his wounds. A .380-caliber pistol, the suspected murder weapon, was recovered nearby, police said.

"Preparing for race wars" really caught my attention. Thank you for this post.

My research is leading me unexpectedly into this very area of research.

What did you mean,'preparing for race wars'?

The typical "Muslims bad guys versus Christians / Jews good guys paradigm or something more insightful (hoping). Thanks again.

Religion is a foundation, a set of rules to live by. Man has free will and has a choice. The choice is to embrace the foundation that religion offers or to turn away. For some religion offers a perfect compliment to education and offers explanations for life's mysteries. It serves as a primer for understanding, comfort and compassion. For many, religion is the truth and is the only thing that can make sense of what may otherwise seem like senseless situations.

For others religion is seen as imposing limits that restrict what they feel is their path to happiness or the way they think things should be.

It's a choice that each person has to make for themself based on the information they have been given. That is what the truth is.

Can a person be a good person without organized religion? I think yes but that certainly doesn't mean that those who adhere to the doctrines of organized religion are wrong.

Since I've lived long enough to know how great life was fifty years ago compared to what it is now, here are some of the reasons why I feel Society is on the decline:
1) Lack of moral values
2) Prevalent of drugs (heroin, crack, etc.)
3) Lack of respect for authority (parents, teachers, law enforcement)
4) Lack of personal responsibility.
5) Lack of education
6) Too much violence (video games, movies, etc.)
7) Lack of reglious beliefs.

Fifty years ago families were intact and divorce was a rarity. Women stayed home and men supported their families even if it meant working two jobs to do so.
Profanity and gutter language was not used in public and men acted like gentlemen and women acted and dressed like ladies (not as hookers!).

I'm glad I can still remember the good old days and won't have to live in today's society for much longer.

The progressive movement has done everything to destroy the family unit. We see this evidenced in much of our modern day society. Women no longer accept their traditional roles as housewives. Gays and Lesbians have more rights than biological parents. It's a mess out there. There is no longer a moral compass.

I agree about the family unit being destroyed. I am a woman. I believe the woman's role is to stay home and care for the family. Unfortunately, the price of life is too high now and both spouses have to have jobs to make ends meet. Kids are being left alone to deteriorate mentally and physically. This will eventually destroy our society.

Help is here, FEEDING YOUR JIGGER.

Your Jigger likes fried chicken, corn bread, and watermelon. You should therefore give it none of these things because its lazy a*s almost certainly doesn't deserve it. Instead, feed it on porridge with salt, and creek water. Your Jigger will supplement its diet with whatever it finds in the fields, other Jiggers, etc. Experienced Jigger owners sometimes push watermelon slices through the bars of the Jigger cage at the end of the day as a treat, but only if all Jiggers have worked well and nothing has been stolen that day. Mike of the Old Ranch Plantation reports that this last one is a killer, since all Jiggers steal something almost every single day of their lives. He reports he doesn't have to spend much on free watermelon for his Jiggers as a result. You should never allow your Jigger meal breaks while at work, since if it stops work for more than ten minutes it will need to be retrained. You would be surprised how long it takes to teach a Jigger to pick cotton. You really would. Coffee beans? Don't ask. You have no idea.
