That place ain't no gem or unique. It's a source of revenue. Hahaha

There are 50 plus other FDs in this county and all conduct training for there members. Please. What a Pathetic choice to mention bleeker street academy as a Utica landmark. The overstaffed UFD is in fact one of the cities main problems.

Ill take nh any day over Utica. Safe neighborhoods. Great public safety. Great schools. Streets that are flat and level and not filled with pot holes. People that pay taxes and are proudly involved with there community. Housing stock that increases in value annually. Must I go on?

Utica is getting so bad, they had to erect a gigantic "Utica Warning Sign" so people coming down the Thruway won't make the mistake of getting off at the Utica exit. The Utica Warning Sign sits atop what appears to be a surplus antenna tower and glows bright red. Utica, the only city in NY with a warning sign!

Uticans and central new yorkers have a genetic disposition to over exaggerating the average or mediocre. Like street thugs with a roll of dollar bills and a $100 bill on the outside. It's all about how it "looks" and whether they can attack you fto dismiss and ignore your opinion. Saranac, Joe Bonehead guitar guy, Ray Jadwick the kiddie sex picture pervert, the OD, WKTV, the police, the museum, the fire department, tomato pie, NFP-a-thons, and "events" that are just alcohol and drug addict passtimes. Oh and you have a casino run by "Indian Mafia" thieves who don't even take care of their own people.

Utica and cny is nothing but an insulated poverty pit and a lot like that caveman valley in that stupid old "Land of the lost" tv show right down to the cavemen rolling boulders at outsiders and the dinosaurs. The schools are pathetic, public policy and attitude is degenerate and arrogant, almost the entire population is an example of analphabetism at its best you look at the place and it is a petri dish of exactly what you get when you seal in hordes of imbeciles and gorillas into one small area and let stew for a few decades.

They deserve to be exactly where they are.

Another fine example of Utica's economic development programs.

It would be a fantastic project...if the harbor wasn't directly downstream from the Sauquoit Creek sewage overflow outlet. Every time it rains a stream of raw, untreated sewage is going to be flowing into the Utica harbor.

I have a feeling the boat rentals and ice cream stands won't be doing boffo business when there are rafts of untreated human waste and toilet paper floating in the water.

Yes please go on pretending your public safety isn't the most worthless and expensive in NYS, and please go on telling everyone how the "sports career" obsessed schools churn out intelligent human beings despite the rather obvious proof both are about as sad and pathetic as they could possibly be. You uticans are hysterical with all these grandiose claims to fame based upon lies and totally untrue ASSumptions designed to glorify your substandard selves.

Your ridiculous claims and comments are belied by the fact that people LEAVE there as soon as they realize it's a mental runt cesspool of public servant workfare and welfare feeders. The results and the fact it's a rust belt cesspool don't lie there Mr. Dreamer.

You should have just told them it was where the public safety is the most expensive and LEAST effective per capita than the entire state, or that they have the most sex offenders per capita in all of NY, or the HIGHEST GAS TAX and average costs, they'd have known EXACTLY where you were talking about!

In my travels, I have learned that nobody has ever heard of Utica. I've stopped telling people that I am from Utica. It is even better to say that I'm from Syracuse. At least people have heard of it, due to SU. At this point, when asked, I say that I am from New York, and just leave it at that. They will just assume I mean NYC. If people ask for more info, then I will explain that I am from near Syracuse. I have learned to never say Utica, as anyone who might have heard of it won't have a good image of it. In many instances, many people from other places who are familiar with New York State, will have a negative opinion of Utstate NY. Its best to just say "New York" and let them assume NYC until they get to know me better, then I can explain exactly where I'm from.
