My family AND their children have been going to Dr. Zalatan for the past 30 years. You couldn't ask for a more gentle, and highly compassionate dentist in the entire City of Utica.

He does NOT accept Medicaid patients, but any other insurance plan is acceptible.

My experience was a few yrs ago - he did a root canal, paid $900 (out of pocket mind you) then the very next day the filling started to come out. Went back in the office so he could "fix" it and guess what....he had the nerve to charge me another $900!!

Never went back and sooo could not recommend to anyone that doesn't like to be ripped off! Buyer Beware

How embarrassing.

I had a cavity filled by him (my first ever) and when I went home, if I bit into anything as crunchy as an apple, it hurt like hell. I went back a few weeks later and told him that it still hurt and I had trouble eating. He asked me if I had been chewing ice. No. He asked me if I was breaking apart hard candy in mouth. No. Well, he said, you must be doing something because you're banging the hell out of that tooth. He refilled my cavity and put a little bit of novocaine on it, and he also had the nerve to charge me again for his sh*t work.

I don't recommend taking kids to see Zalatan either because he swears like a mobster in a Quentin Tarantino film. I wouldn't want my children being exposed to that crap. And don't go to Zalatan's office for cleanings. The assistants who always cleaned my teeth spent about 5 minutes on my mouth, and when I went home my teeth were still stained and encrusted with plaque.

I had a good dentist in my former city and I'm glad I didn't stay with Zalatan long enough for him to fk up my smile which I spent thousands of dollars on. He also has University of Penn degrees on his wall, nice forgeries.

I have been going to him for 20 years, Never had a problem!!! Never!!! He is the only dentist in my lifetime that ever made me feel comfortable! Before him I was afraid to go to the dentist! Now I go to the dentist yearly without a problem!! My daughter also goes to him and loves going to the dentist because of him and his staff!! To Each His Own I Guess!

Dr Z is a great guy and truly a one of a kind professional. He'll be retiring soon and his son Justin will be taking over, whom is just as nice and professional as John. Ive been going to Dr Z for about 5 years now and have never once had a problem with him or his staff. My wife and son also go there and have always had great experiences with the entire staff.

well it just so happens that you had a bad experience...i've been going to him for as long as i can remember, and never once have i heard him swear...he's always been so nice to me, and tells me what a beautiful smile i have EVERY time i'm there...as far as the cleaning assistants go, they are also very kind, and although they can be a little rough, never has my mouth felt dirty leaving there...when i needed braces, he was the one who suggested my orthodontist, and not only that, but he worked along with him when it came time for my wisdom teeth to be pulled (he also recommended a great doctor for that)...i have not one bad thing to say about this man and his practice, and it kind of offends me that you would say such negative things, i'm sorry you had a bad experience, but don't degrade this man's certification based on your misfortunes.

Well this obviously is written by someone who has nothing better to do with his/her time than to post ridiculous posts! Dr. Z is a TRUE GENTLEMAN - does NOT swear and is a top notch dentist! My family (and aunts & uncles) have been going to him for years! He is FANTASTIC!!!

Dr John Zalatan is a great guy and a great dentist. He is also a long time friend and truly cares about his patience. His Penn diploma is authentic and since you're such an expert on dentistry please tell me where your degree is from. Do us all a favor move you and your fk up smile back to where you came from. I see a hot woman for all my dental needs. When she slaps on her rubber gloves and puts her hands in my mouth, it's all I can do to keep from exploding in my pants. Best of all she's divorced, so she talks a lot with the possiblity of it leading to something.

went there today with my son.....he has had fillings for a few yrs now and been to other dentists. dr z wants to replace all 6 fillings. says due to the margins they all need to be replaced. anyone knows that over time the margins are gonna loosen up and not be sealed as tightly as when they're 1st done. but i say don't fix it unless it's broken...my son is 17 and doesn't have a problem with those fillings, oh and y be concerned with filling them with white fillings vs. the silver ones??? money hungry!!! if only the insurance co. knew what this guy was doing!!! no wonder y premiums go up all the time....becuz of doing unnecessary work.
