I went to Harley Davidson the other day with my girlfriend and a salesman approached me with a friendly smile on his face. Suddenly he seemed uninterested and then he backed away and said, "Well, look away." And with that he was off to go spread his sunshine on other customers.

What a jerkoff! I suppose if I had said, "I'm here to spend 50K dollars" he would have been my new best friend, but because I was only looking at bikes he didn't even give me the time of day. The greedy punk only cares about one thing and that is commissions.

You more or less said you didn't want his help when you said I'm "here to look" and that's why he left the area. My favorite when somebody calls me about a car and says"I'll call you back" or "let me talk it over with with wife". Both of those mean they are not interested
In the vehicle and it is a nice way of saying it.

An experienced sales person never asks a question that will generate a, "no" 99% of the time.

Ideally, he should have said, "hi, my name is whatever, I'm not sure if you're looking for anything particular, but if you are, just give me a holler, I'll be nearby."

Or, "we are running some in store specials, is there any particular model you might be interested in?"

Never ask a question where you get a no answer

I much prefer being left alone to browse than being circled like a wounded animal in a shark tank. We're adults, if we need help we can ask. I won't buy cars, appliances or motorcycles at a store where I get a business card pressed into my hand, a greasy smile and some salesperson's assurance that he/she is my friend and they are looking out for me.

they have to sell to make a decent income, imagine how many tire kicking, bankrupt, upside down dreamer strokers they must see in any given day. maybe he could have choose his words better, but after a while they can feel out a douche from a real potential buyer in about 5 seconds. he saved both of you alot of time and b.s..if you really were in there to buy one, you can use that to your advantage by telling them "I'm here to buy one, not kick tires". If the salesman feels he will sell a vehicle in the next hour, you can easily have him eating right out of your hand. My point is, do all your research outside the showroom, then get your finances in place, have all your math done; THEN go in and pick one out and you'll get much better attention. sounds kinda cold, but that, my friend, is how you do business.

Bought 2 bikes from them before but now buy anyplace else but there. You get better deals with better people to deal with. Only time I go there if it's a repain I can do myself or have no choice.

All the old timer that knew that they were doing and were courtious have been let go. The Manage works on overall commision so they take advantage of you.

But don't take my word...just shop at other dealers and you will see the difference in price and the overall shopping experience.

BTW, won't even bring it there for inspection.

You're a fking jerk off...naturally if you said " I'm here to spend 50K" then he would be helping more, but what did you want him to do, follow you around so you can bash him for following you throughout the shop? You are pathetic writing about this, not to mention, you prob are one of those guys who does waste salesman's time with many questions, but no intention on buying anything. I am sure you left buying nothing feeling bitter about it.

Leave yourself for the bicycles and leave the real biks for real men blowhard. You must be a little beyotch girl.

they ruined that place from the minute they bought it, they only bought it to get deals on theyre own toys, they have lost most of the real staff that they had because they didnt want to work for posers.....but at least its not filled with cokeheads like the other dealerships they own!!!
