who the frig is the a$$hole hwo wrote nasty junk about experienced teachers. To you andanyone who supports your poorpoor judgement. Guess what a$$hole, with more cuts to come next year more young teachers will lose their jobs. Keep talking shit because they will be looking for janitor jobs. Not all but many many young teachers think who the hell they are. They treat others like dirt. When they do shit like this happens. Oh well. Ye and the more experienced teachers do earn more, and yes there are some experienced teachers who also fall into that same category as I mentioned the young teachers. But let me tell you, thee are many more young teachers for whatever the reason that think their shit dont stink. They ae to many points not only disrespectful to their older collegues but horrible to students too. It must be the age ofthe spoiled brat and the young teachers fall into that as well. You can see it as many teach a coupkle of years and then sell their soles to try to become administrators. They do this because they havent improved as teachers and they want to be administrators. Count te number of administrators with less than 12 to 15 years as tachers, its remarkable, sadder yet is this theory is true. Give a name of a young teacher and most on this thread (with a brain) that knows the teacher will tell you . Is it sad for people to lose their job? Certainly. But when the person is accurately described and fits the personality mentioned above, its not as sad. You also have to remember, these young teachers were advised when it was time to vot for that ridiculous contract. They acted as if they knew it all and voted IN FAVOR OF IT. Many were told this would happen if they voted for it. NOt taking into consideration wat the veteran teachrsadvised them when they asked. Well, now the got what they asked for. At 2 or 28 or 32 these young teachers think they have been around the world and back. Well it really proves WHAT THEY DONT KNOW. I guess its true youth is WASTED ON THE YOUNG. Good now have a good time finding a job next year.

I hope you are not a teacher. Your grammar is horrible. Also, posting this doesn't make you any better than the person who had an opinion about older teachers. Being a new teacher doesn't necessarily mean he or she is a brat or even young, just like being old doesn't make you a great teacher. The problem lies in the unions and the last in first out system. Maybe if things were different, the schools would have better teachers (old or "young"). Lastly, I am a tax payer, not a teacher. And this is my opinion!

There is NO $14,000 retirement incentive. The district sent out a survey to see who was interested in retiring and if the incentive would help them make up their mind. If there is not, at least, 12-15 teachers who will retire there will be no incentive. The districts has offered this the last couple years. Its common protocal. There has to be a minimum number of teachers willing to go to make the deal worth it with the breakage between the new hires salary and the experienced teachers salary. Ecceleston may be worthless, but she is also running the district. Bruce just looks down on everyone. Check out his new picture on the OD website. He looks just like his hero...Stalin. Putting fear in the hearts of everyone who works in the district.

Where are you getting your info? The state has NOT mentioned this at all and Utica can not afford it, especially with the charter school coming in. Also, I can sense you have some anger managment issues, you may want to work on that. If you do work in an area school, your insurance should offer therapy for free. You may want to think out it. Life is way too short to be soo angry.

Heather they do, but we can't afford them any more. Maybe if they would move to Utica and pay their taxex here, then maybe we could afford all of their benefits.

You can't afford teachers? Are you kidding me??? BTW...many teachers do live in the city and most who don't still shop in Utica. We also pay into our benefits, as well as pay taxes...probably much more than the general population in Utica, considering we own homes rather than rent. For some reason teachers have become the scapegoats for the shrinking tax base in this area, and it's ridiculously unfair. Trust me, the pay and benefits aren't all that great...Most of us really do teach because we love what we do.
