What a ignorant moron. Yes she should be held responsible. It is her JOB!! She has to call the town highways and see if the roads are safe. Did she?? how about delaying school an hour or two to give time to clean the roads. Just b/c the conditions are ok in Whitesboro or Rome does not mean its ok in Floyd. Its a large school district. The accident was horrible but K.Davis needs to take responsibility. It was her job! She has the position to delay or cancel school not pass the buck off to parents.
Pass the buck off to parents? Really? My kids are all grown so they are done with school; however, ultimately, the safety of MY KIDS is my responsibility; not an administrator in a school district. How about the rest of the county, town, etc., that went to work or wherever; were they supposed to stay home for slippery weather? Very tragic and unfortunate; however, chalk it up to the inexperience of a young driver who should not have been driving that morning. Sounds like you just don't like the super.....problems in school yourself??

that kathy has cheated at least 5 times, she used to get plowed by the pedophile gym teacher in oriskany Mike Duell (the same guy that was having sex with a 16 year old student) in the locker rooms, the janitor caught them and the principal threatened his job to keep his mouth shut
You really are disgruntled. Mike Deuel and his wife are two of the nicest people. She is younger than he, that much is true. However, where you get your information is beyond me......better hope he doesn't see his and figure out who you are!

Really..........playing hardass......come on.......how many times do you tell your kids to drive carefully. As a parent, if the weather is really bad, you tell them to stay home, you drive them yourself, you tell them to take the bus to school. Superintendents do not supercede your rights as a parent. If the kids were not chronic absent students from school, staying home due to inclement weather would not be a problem. How about all the other kids who drove and made it to school okay.
Perhaps there is more to the accident than just bad weather? I don't know but please quit blaming the superintendent of schools. They made the best judgment call they can for the good of the whole school district.
Do you really believe if there wasn't school that day, the kids would have stayed home and not gone out someplace in a car? Really........It was a tragedy with a young, inexperienced driver........an accident........stop the hating......
She did not make the best judgement call for the whole school district. The roads in Floyd were horrible. I wonder is she new how the roads were in Westernville. A 16 yr old boy died. Do you still believe that the best call was to have school start on time? If she had delayed it for an hour or 2 hours, this accident would not have happened.

Didn't she split from husband recently? One of them got caught hooking up with someone at the gym? Or she was giving special lessons?

Too bad, husband seems like a nice guy. Can't imagine why he stays with her.

Perhaps when it is very slippery. Our parents should refrain from allowing their teens from driving, and instruct them to take the bus to school? Just a thought.
I'm not sure that's a solution either, because the buss's may be heavier still I've seen them slide and skid and have seen an accident however I would tend to agree it MAY be a better .Its one of those things Dammed if ya do dammed if ya don't, I'm not sure who or if you agree but we ALL have a "date " in time that our number will be up. That's just how I feel Its what I believe, I may think differently if it was my child (Thank God Mine is OUT of school now ) I went round and round in my head when she was in school should I send her or not ,Thank God nothing happened, but sick to think what the parents are going thru.

Well, she issued her statement. Standing by her opinion it was the right decision not to delay or close.

Her claim about 11 neighboring districts also staying open is a pitiful justification. If you look at the districts that were under the effect of Lake Effect snows, and our position under the same band of snow, she just highlighted her error. The 11 districts referenced who stayed open that day were not under the Lake Effect band.

For any who claim weather is unpredictable, the Lake Effect Snow Advisory was issued for Northern Oneida County by the NWS at 3:33 PM on Monday. Forecast was for 4"-8" thru noon Tuesday. She had more than enough warning and time to make the right decision. She only had to look out her window before 5:30AM to confirm the forecast was accurate.

These are the facts, they cant be ignored.

Useless? Only if your content with Kathy displacing the blame for HER decision, and then justifying it by saying 11 districts stayed open that day but failing to mention it wasn't snowing in those 11 districts.

No, it wont bring him back, but holding those accountable for their actions is useful. In fact, its necessary. Any responsible public figure should hold accountability as one of their foremost goals. She clearly doesn't, making this " banter" relevant and necessary .

If your conscience allows it, feel free to "move on". I'll stay right here until Kathy does the right thing.

You make absolutely no sense. Your statements are so ridiculous it is hard to reply to your rambling. The Superintendent made the right call.
All the buses arived safely. Students all over Oneida County made it to school safely. Don't be judgemental and try to blame her for an accident. IT WAS NOT HER FAULT. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT.

Make no sense? I'm sorry if simple facts cloud your ability to comprehend. Nothing I said is disputable, rambling, or false. I haven't blamed anyone for the accident. I do blame her for a poor decision and the subsequent attempts to shift blame. Good luck trying to understand this......i......typed........ real.........slow.......for... ...you.......

So, you are one of the inbred yahoos who disagree with everything Ms Davis has done since she became Sup. HP school district is the very last place anyone from 'outside' should go for employment. Trappers and muleskinners don't deserve competent educators; too bad their innocent children must suffer for their backwoods ignorance.
