Plant corn, get corn. Dirt bag kids usually means dirt bag parents who take no responsibility for their kids' upbringing or behavior. And they're the first ones to complain when their dirt bag kid is punished. Want to see schools improve? Make attending a privilege, not a right. Find a way to hold the parents accountable for their kids' actions (financially, perhaps). Good, even excellent schools can't succeed with piss poor parents.
Sounds good to me.

True but it's the liberal Democrats who control the legislaure that makes education law and the state education department that administrates and enforces it.
It is definitely liberal policies that have taken us to where we are.
couldn't have said it better. Dang liberals are ruining this country...look at our president! One of the worst we've ever had :-(

He own a very profitable gym in N.H. He can always go back to being a personal trainer.
He won't lack for money.
Jim is a good guy. Back in my day, my parents would have beat my ass when I got home for being disruptive.
Too many kids have been given "Labels" and medications. Most of them just need to get their asses kicked. These kids today get away with murder because "they can". No fear of authority, or respect for adults. Just look around... it is disgusting they way some of these thugs walk around.

I would love to know the entire story which lead to this mess. What did the kid do? does the kid have a disability? What did the kid do or say which lead to excessive force? Does anyone know what really happened other than what was published for us to read?

I know jim for a long time. I wasn't there but knowing how jim is The district eggagerated the entire incident. Jim is a great guy. As far as the kid having a disability, that has nothing to do with being unruly, insubordinate, disruptiv e,or a danger to himself others or school property. The professionals in charge have THE RIGHT to use NECESSARY force to remove the child from the situation. Im sure jim used necessary force and not extreme force. Its obvious a group of people have it out for jim,and some of those people are probably gutless teachers in that building.

when a student is being disruptive to the point where it is an obstickle to the education of OTHERS,school personnel have the right to remove that disruptive, obstinate student from that environment. As for your opinion on freedom of choice those rights are for everyone. Jim was railroaded plain and simple.

Hadn't already been disciplined before for the same thing?

I read that somewhere.

if he really did it once and was warned / disciplined- then lost his cool an did it again- he deserved what he got.

If not- I feel bad.

But- what caused them to want to "railroad him?" If this incident wasn't it, why did they really want to spend all the money to get rid of him?

I can remember my art teacher dragging me out of class into the hall and literally paddle my ass till it was beet red, no exaggeration. The teachers today would be arrested for that. The kids today don't have the level of fear needed to act responsible and respectful. Have we failed our kids by over protecting them??

Why is it always a liberals fault for the bad that happen? Maybe we need to rethink how we as adults act around our children at a young age.. People thinks it's ok to use vaguer language, parents are never around any more, there is very little family time, violence on tv, etc.. It's not the kids, it's the environment that all these children are growning up in. Change needs to happen from adults and the children will follow....

You Fox news watchers will take every problem and blame the President for it. Everything is not the President's fault. You need to understand that Fox news is owned by very wealthy people with no other agenda than to convince ignorant middle class people that republicans have their best interest in mind.

A special ed student can be a behavior problem student who needs to be handled that way. The hillbillies from that district wouldn't know any better and probably eat their young.

What happened that day probably happens every day in schools across the Country. As I understand it, the child just having a bad day, would not go to class. The principal took him by the collar and tried to lead him to his classroom. Again, an every day occurrence. The child dropped to the floor on purpose and the principal dragged him.(What was the principal's alternative - leave the child on the floor in the middle of the hallway?) The principal did nothing wrong in my opinion.

Someone, I'm not sure who, witnessed the incident and reported it.
Obviously, someone was out to get the Principal. Who knows why. Some people don't want to be told to work or get to work on time...but I'm just speculating.

An important point to make is that the child apologized to the principal later in the day. All the negative comments about the child is not true. These things happen in schools every day. If it were not for the witness, the student and the principal would have resolved the issue and that would have been the end of it. The kid was clearly defiant but took responsibility for it. I actually feel bad for the child for having to be mixed up in all of this.

We are talking about a good principal and a good student here, nothing more.

For Jim, he did nothing that principals don't do everyday. He did not strike the child and he did not intend to hurt the child. He was trying to manage his building.
