I remember the story of Johnny Lee Bell. It was all over the newspapers at the time. It was a sad story. I believe they found him in a basement.

Johnny Lee Bell was murdered in about 1978 or so, as far as I can remember. They found his body in the basement of an apt. building. He had been raped and then shot, I think.
It was tragic, and scared everyone who lived in that neighborhood for years after.I've been trying to find any original news reports about it as well.
He was seven or eight and lived in Cornhill, around Miller St. or Howard Ave. possibly.
