Is The Tea Party Golden-Girl A Dead-Beat, Unemployed Loser?

This is what perenial creep, Karl Rove, said about Deleware Tea Partier Christine O'Donnell: "One thing that Christine O'Donnell is going to have answer is her own checkered background .... These serious questions: how does she make her living? Why did she mislead voters about her college education? How come it took nearly two decades to pay her college tuition? How does she make a living? Why did she sue a well-known conservative think tank?.... questions about why she had a problem for five years paying her federal income taxes, why her house was foreclosed and put up for a sheriff's sale, why it took 16 years for her to settle her college debt and get her diploma after she went around for years claiming she was a college graduate.... when it turns out she just got her degree because she had unpaid college bills that they had to sue her over."

The Republican Party, at its core, is a hateful, mean spirited, right-wing corporatist serving monstrosity. And this O'Donnell character is batshit crazy, a real loon, and would be a horrible Senator.

But the fact that she took a long time to pay her student loans, or was foreclosed upon, or had a real tough time finding a job, or whose income last year was well below the poverty level, does not mean she has some deep rooted character flaw, or is somehow an illegitiamte candidate for the US Senate. She is very much like millions of Americans who have really struggled in an economy whose structure is rigged against working class folks and which is instead designed to benefit a ruling aristocracy. I've heard numerous right-wingers such as Rove deomonize the likes of O'Donnell, people struggling in our plutocratic economic system, as being dead-beats, lazy, losers, welefare types. I guess they figured that the only people who struggle in this country were democrats.

Just saw another "GREAT" Video Clip of Ms. O'Donnell,She said "I'll tell you, I just came back from the Middle East, and it was refreshing. With all that is going on, it was refreshing not to be constantly bombarded with smut all the time."

Yeah, this is the typical "Nuts or Sluts" reaction of uncomfortable, sexist party stooges. Pay it no mind.

I guess it is a choice that Delawareans will have to make between a glassy-eyed, Christian, aged cheerleader and a self-professed Marxist.

Personally if I could vote in Delaware I'd go for the Catholic cheerleader over the Marxist fellow every time. The former might be entertaining and who knows might turn out to be better than average. The latter will just vote with the Obama/Pelosi/Reed agenda to keep funding an ever expansive, ever more intrusive government on the backs of the rate payers and their grand children.

It seems like a pretty easy choice to me.

Rest easy, as anybody who follows politics, and has a brain, does not care about a word out of Rove's mouth. I'm still amazed Rove didn't need a Gerald Ford'esque Presidential pardon to save his filthy rear. Rove's skeleton's I can only imagine. He's on "the in" like he was a "Don" in a Godfather movie.

Name one "Tea Bagger" candidate who is sane - they all have crazy ideas, and the sad part is that "Tea Party" voters don't care about the backgrounds of these candidates, or the fact that they don't have a clue about what's going on the world - foreign or domestic. O'Donnell is truly a whack job - Bill Maher showed a clip of her admitting to "dabbling in witchcraft" - just another addition to the wacky things she's said or done. You can find that clip on You Tube. For some of her other stellar quotes - go here:

The Republican party has completly lost it's mind. They are dragging out all these Sarah Palin clones. Odonnel is just one of the more deranged ones. Wait until you get a good dose of Mr. Paladino. This guy would get kicked out of the Sopranos gang for lack of sensitivity. Hello dark ages.

They don't now about the values, ethics and morals of their repugnant candidates now. But wait until they vote them in and they pass bills that effect them and their families. Then you'll hear them cry how they were mislead and they didn't get what they voted for. CAN'T WAIL until it backfires on them and they beg for someone else to save them.

Yeah, I know what you mean. That Bill of Rights? CRAAAZY talk!
NO NO and NO

Bill of rights is not crazy talk. What's crazy is a candidate who doesn't pay for her college loans until she is sued, has a near foreclosure (only saved by her boyfriend} who has dabbled in witchcraft and who wants to tell you what is allowed in your sex life.

NOW THAT'S WHAT'S CRAZY!!

It is amazing to see how fast the talking points about Ms. O'Donnell have migrated from the Castle campaign to the Democrat's playbook.

If she "dabbled into Wiccan" that would seem to me to be a Lefty selling point. You fellows are always so inclusive and such. Voting for her is a vote for Paganism and who on the Left doesn't like Pagans?

She may be a nutty candidate but she couldn't be any worse than a (now shorn) "bearded Marxist".

For me it is very simple: If one candidate thinks bigger government oversight in my life is a good thing and the other thinks the opposite? The latter gets my vote.

I don't care much about people's religions and such. I'll leave that to the Leftist commenters.

And "self proclaimed Marxist" is part of your original lexicon? And since when is Karl Rove part of the Democratic Party establishment?

My original post dealt with the utter phonieness of the likes of Rove and the Republican Party: people with O'Donnell's difficult economic experiences have been trashed as losers, deadbeats, even somehow morally culpable for their plight. Except, I guess, when the candidates are one of their own. At least Rove wears his heart on his sleave.

With regard to the ever growing government, the real threat to liberty isn't health insurance subsidized by the federal government for middle class families. It's the ever growing police state, one which spies on its own citizens, violates the Constitution through tyranical practices as "rendition", torture, and open ended imprisonment of people without trials, charges, or court hearings. We have a governemnt that has, reportedly, decreed that an American citizen (at least one, who knows how many), is to be murdered because he is supposedly a "terrorist" (whatever that means). No conviction, no trial, not even any charges or formal presentation of evidence. No one really knows what this American citizen has done to deserve this unilateral death sentence. Where is the Tea Party on these issues? Take a wild guess, Ron Paul excluded.

The Tea Party mistakes "Liberty" as the freedom of corportions to exploit workers and consumers and manipulate the free market. The Tea Party mistakes "liberty" as aristicrates being free from any taxation. The Party Party mistakes liberty as middle class seniors being free from the seccurity of medicare, social security, and a decent retitement. The Tea Party wants America to be free from anything the government may do that makes their lives the least bit better.

And who benefits from all this? The aristocraccy that lies at the heart of this bogus grass roots movement. People who support this movemement speak in platitudes and pablum, yet when push comes to shove, it's the same old extreme right wing garbage repackaged as something new and organic. It's an ideology that has run this country right into the ground.

IF O'Donnell is like the rest of her Tea Party brethern, she wants to cut Social Security, privatize (or completely eliminate) Medicare, enact drastic and massive cuts in aid to states and localities, which would mean deep cuts in police, fire, and school budgets, and make it illegal to have an abortion unless you can prove that the pregnacy will kill you. If that's the country people long-for, our democratic system may very well deliver it, much to the ruin of the nation.

Very well said. It almost seems that we're approaching an end game battle between smart and stupid, and compassion versus mean spirited selfishness.
