You also have a soccer coach who is coaching the jv baseball. Ever see his son play? Ever see the other coaches son play?

Pretty funny. The modified baseball team went undefeated this season with the "wrong" players. Morons.

Happens every year. Sadly, most of the coaches don't recognize true talent. Some obvious players make it on talent, but many don't even get looked at properly. Tryouts are a joke. Hit five balls in a cage, and the coaches more times than not don't even watch all the players. Family name and favoritism still play a big role at this school. My son told me that only 20 players tried out for varsity this year. They used to have like 50. Kids don't like the coaches or the program any longer. Time for new coaches and managers, because a definate change is needed. Some people will comment otherwise, but after having kids in the programs for 10 years, I have seen it all from both sides.
Modified baseball in whitesboro is the biggest ripoff in the country. It is so fixed!!!!! The long standing whitesboro names all get picked like colburn etc. Its horrible. I've seen my son get cut in 7th and 8th grade while he was the best player on the whole squad, or close to it. five years later, the coach even told me so, how does that grab ya? You have to try out for a position. so say your son is a 1st baseman and their are 4 kids going out for 1st base. If your kid isnt in the top 2 at first base tryout, he gets cut!!!!
Well maybe he is like the 6th best on the team and you could use him somewhere else? oh no, he tried out for 1st, so he is cut. Also, kids that have had a brother before him make it also has an advantage, even though the younger one stinks. I have never seen tryouts this weird in my life. thankfully, we moved to a another school district for JV. They asked why he didnt play modified, we told them and the coach replied, oh yeah, thats whitesboro for ya. anyways in jv & varsity, a no hitter, batted 3rd, hit 600, now on his way to lemoyne. Dont give up you good players, just try to get out of whitesboro.

You are partially correct I'm sure.

However, the praise you have for your own child in your posting makes your position on the issues questionable. The coach admitted that to you? really? Did he say why he did it?

Did you move to a smaller district where everyone who tries out makes it? Was that no hitter against anybody any good? Is that your .600 average what you decided he hit because you sat in the stands and called everything he put in play a base hit even if 30-40% should have been fielded?

Point being...when you are so full of praise for your own child, your opinion is weakened because you have lost all objectivity.

Unfortunately complaining will go on deaf ears, they all look out for each other. My son made the team and I am upset he has to play with some kids that should still be in minor league learning fundamentals. There were a few kids on that team that should have never made it. The coach can say whatever he wants, but he showed favoritism. Unfortunately, a few kids that were very talented should have made it, but they don't have a father who works at the school so they were cut. Everyone's taxes goes towards these coaches salaries, stipends and helps keep the program going. The program is supposed to be made for those that are truly talented to help develop their skills. Not as a fringe benefit to teachers. It happens, it will happen next year I'm sure.
I know, if dad doesnt work at the school, your kid gets cut. there have been in the past two years, one kid who played one yr of little league, didnt even make LL one year, still belongs in minor league. Kids with wicked attitudes that should of been cut right away, oh well, it just ends baseball for the kids who deserve it. I think those deserving kids should kick the $hit out of the undeserving kids. My nephew was cut a couple years ago and he was better than half the team. Kids broke his balls, so I told him, next time they break em on you, just give em a beating!!!!

So many good kids get cut, it is real sad. you are better off playing babe ruth. You have to be a teacher or teachers friend. All you have to do is look somewhat good for 1 hr and your in. then the coach realizes what a horrible player he took.
Why dont they do what Rome did and have 2 teams?
You see alot better players.
Whitesboro in all sports is such a shame, it is so
fixed and unfair. Seen it for 20 years!!!!!

You whiners all need to grow up. It's a life lesson, folks. Life is not fair; and, it is better for your little boy to learn that lesson at age 12 than later in life. Help your kid to cope with these lessons at a young age rather than blaming it on someone else. It will be a great benefit to him later.

You should see these coaches, friends, asking who the coach is, wanting his number, looking him up, BC was one of them, heard him at the field last tues., was panicking until he found out who it was. It is absolute sickening. My kid was cut once already so if it happens again, I would like to start up a team and play the team when its picked. Would be interesting. I will take all the cut players.

Is this what my two younger boys have to look forward to?
NH Crap

Nice to know same crap goes on in the Boro but its worse in NH. Majority of coaches are parents so their kids make it and if you as a parent kiss the ad's butt or are able to offer him something he can use or are valuable to him then your kid makes it.
I am talking about the kids on teams after the first 5 or so who are shoe ins based on talent. After the first 5 its all about the above. in addition the rules only apply if the administration wants them to. They pick and choose when to enforce rules. They make them up as they go along NH is such a laughing stock!!
There are so many instances in NH of impropriety, self serving, rule breaking and conflict of interest that there is not enough characters/type to write on this forum.
Worse part is its all known and the board lets it all go on because they are a group of socialites who only want the title of board member and not the responsibility.

Its tough to pick and hard to look at the kids in a gym. there are some 8th graders left over and as far as younger 7th graders or whatever, you should look at the kids who have been playing and exceled over the winter. The hurricanes and naturals have real good players , while the others haven't picked up a baseball in a year. Like last yr and the one before, those kids get on.

Well one of the coaches kids, no names, actually left little league half way through, maybe quit, not sure, and when he did play, was not a top 40 player, and has not picked up a baseball since last summer, will end up on the modified team cause his dad is a coach at the school. wanna bet? Actually, people are literally taking bets on this

well this type of stuff does not just happen at your school it is all around and at all levels. We can see basketball turnovers, tons of shots being missed, no steels and someone comes off the bench steals the ball, gets rebounds makes points and if they get one turnover they are subed and they have been playing great yet the loved ones stay in and they are havng a horrible game, doesn't make sense at all. So the political shit is all over.

Not as bad as the kid who is going to be on the iteam He left little league, he doesn't
play travel, he is just the son of someone there. this will be the worst in school history.
