While some coaches kids get right in...one of them played 1 year of little league ...1 year. And seasoned kids r cut to make room for the nepotism.....

Happens every year. Sadly, most of the coaches don't recognize true talent. Some obvious players make it on talent, but many don't even get looked at properly. Tryouts are a joke. Hit five balls in a cage, and the coaches more times than not don't even watch all the players. Family name and favoritism still play a big role at this school. My son told me that only 20 players tried out for varsity this year. They used to have like 50. Kids don't like the coaches or the program any longer. Time for new coaches and managers, because a definate change is needed. Some people will comment otherwise, but after having kids in the programs for 10 years, I have seen it all from both sides.

When the season begins it will be up to that coach to prepare those two little ones so they dont embarass themselves....

No matter how good a kid is, they are useless to a team when they can't behave and do their school work. This causes them to become ineligible and has devastating effects on the team. It is always better to take the less talented kids who can remain eligible and work with them.

W'boro is and always has picked kids for who they are or who their kid is friends with. Sux.

Only problem is most of the kids will or already have begun to resent the"coaches kids" cause they r not that talented and seemingly this roster has been handed to them. Their fathers aren't doing them any favors....they will get talked about behind their backs and suffer social consequences. Good job to those fathers/coaches that will hurt their kids more than help.

if you are a coach your child automatically makes the team doesnt matter their skill level of that child either, but that child should also get the same playing time as the other children..

Wow. A school this size, supported by 2 Little League programs that always seem to finish number one and two in the distrct just can't seem to put together a highly performing school team. Wake up W'boro tax payers. It's time to join forces and stand up for your rights at a school board meeting. Let me guess......more W'town kids made the team than did MD kids? How could that possibly happen? Last time I checked people who live in MD pay taxes too. Three very strong kids from MD didn't make the team and we all know why. If it was my kid, I'd be there.

some kids attitudes are so bad, why are they on the team and why do they play? I would take lesser talented kids. What I have seen in little league, I would of taken my kid and kicked his a$$ in front of everyone. these kids will always play. Little league coaches coach so their kids make it to all stars. That is why little league will lose kids mid season. I tell my kid, wait until we get out on the football field!!!!!!

Get over it... Your kid obviously sin't that good. You weren't at try outs seeing them perform so accept ur kids sucks and move onto something else. No wonder these kids walk around with their sense of entitlement... Its because their idiot parents preach it. Go earn something the old fashion way.

Welcome to the real world. Be grateful there are circumstances that provide life lessons for kids that will prepare them for later disappointments.
Coaches', school administrators' and school board members' kids make teams.
Bosses' kids get jobs.
Neices and nephews get raises and upgrades.

IT'S CALLED LIFE. Embrace It!

Well, it is going to change this year. I want to thank ALL the
parents that showed up last night. We know what we have to do.
The routine starts on the first day we discussed.

Unfortunately complaining will go on deaf ears, they all look out for each other. My son made the team and I am upset he has to play with some kids that should still be in minor league learning fundamentals. There were a few kids on that team that should have never made it. The coach can say whatever he wants, but he showed favoritism. Unfortunately, a few kids that were very talented should have made it, but they don't have a father who works at the school so they were cut. Everyone's taxes goes towards these coaches salaries, stipends and helps keep the program going. The program is supposed to be made for those that are truly talented to help develop their skills. Not as a fringe benefit to teachers. It happens, it will happen next year I'm sure.

Would someone in Whitesboro, in a position to do so, ever have any kind of ethics to do what is right? Did they forget they are teachers who deal with kids? Did we as parents forget this?
