Why would you donate five bucks to preserve an empty useless building that just takes up space? It's an old building that absolutely no one cares about. You should be donating money I guess to tear it down. Maybe put a grocery store there.

I think it's great to keep it around. It reminds all of the mental cases wandering around utica about the good old days.

The State owns the Physc Center. The State is allowing the Landmark Society to do tours. The 5 dollars goes to Landmarks who do a lot of arcitectual and historical education programs around Oneida county.

You've got to be kidding! A grocery store? How stupid. It is an awesome building with a lot of history. The last time they opened it, there were a ton of people at the opening and I was there. Many do care! They are trying to get permission to turn it into a museum in the future.

Well considering west utica doesn't have a grocery store seems like an ideal place. Turning an old building into some museum in broken down west utica really doesn't sound like money well spent. Once the initial round of locals and should be mental patients take a tour do you really think people will travel to see an old mental hospital in utica New York in the worst area of the town?

Another non profit looking for a hand out. No one cares about a defunct mental hospital. Imagine if thriving cities wanted to "preserve" everything and not move forward. I guess the World Trade Center should have just been preserved as a national landmark. Rubble and all. How's the major tourist attraction of fort stanwix working out? How many buildings along Rutger street and Genesee street need to be preserved as "national landmarks" before you people get it? No one cares.
