I'd like to see it removed from the Oneida County's tax payers responsibility. While they're at it , quit supporting the Zoo, the Aud, Murnane Field, the Capitol in Rome and all of the rest boondoggles we fund. That also includes welfare recipients who are not drug free and/or drug dealers. If we had less democrats in N.Y.S., we would have welfare slobs leaving N.Y. in droves, just like Fla. Can't pass a drug test, no welfare.

Rumor has it that the Stanley asks too much of a percentage from its entertainers. I believe that.

Yes I agree with the gentleman who said they need a real promoter. A real promoter wouldn't ask who you would like to see at the Stanley they would know who draws and would get the job done. What a waste of a beautiful gorgeous theater. The management is grasping at straws and doesn't have a clue that's why they are asking on topix.
I am in full agreement. The theater really is stunning and beautiful on the inside. I absolutly love going there whenever possible. I would love to see a lagitimate Broadway play or an illusionist in a theater like that.

They should really cut down the percentage they charge acts and realize it is more imortant to get people in the seats.

They should be having two major events a month, something every other week. Make the Stanley something people think of every couple of months rather than as a once-a-year kind of place: it should become a venue an average person goes to four or six times a year, or more. Right now, it's a museum: not what you think of as lively.

Maybe activity like that would attract another restaurant or two down in that neighborhood. Make parking in downtown Utica angled so you can fit more cars in, and make people feel safe at night by having a couple police cars there. People will spend money if they feel save and if there's an entertainment they enjoy. They certainly spend it in New Hartford.

What do I want to see come to the Stanley?

A parking area that makes it easier for patrons and enough money coming in that the taxpayers don't have to subsidize the operation.

What we don't need is the same show coming every year, the same old musical, the same old singer. What we need is access to the best seats in the house, those that are currently RESERVED for the Utica friends and family plan. What we need is better parking and more shows. Also, this is Utica where very few have they amount of money it takes to buy a couple of tickets for a family. The prices are outrageous for the local economy!

VERY VERY VERY TRUE. THey should have at least 1 event a month. Even the Utica Zoo has the BREWFEST, ZOOFARI, WINE IN THE WILDERNESS. Let people enjoy the Stanley with a WINE TASTEING or something similar. THEY should partner more with Munson Williams on event like art shows and stuff.

We went once - it was nothing more than an expensive rip-off and never again.
I agree they really soak people for that show, but that's not the Stanley's fault--they merely rent the theater to the Sesame St. people--then SS charges what they want.
