The Chief Fire Marshall Position within the UFD should be eliminated. The person that holds that position has been on sick leave for over 2 years and has cost the taxpayers in excess of $250000 plus replacement time with out of title pay. I am sure this person who is on sick leave has enough time on the department to retire, this is plain and simple greed when the city is in dire straits and this mayor does not have the guts to see this travesty and eliminate this position. He has the justification to eliminate this position under civil service and general municipality law which states that the mayor can eliminate a civil service position after the position has not been filled after one year of absence by the person who holds that position. This is plain and simple, this kind of makes me feel like the mayor could care less about the taxpayers of this city.

The law of NYS Fire Prevention and Control states second class city must have a Fire Marshal in place, Every fire must have a cause filed, Should the no balls waste BECK retire absolutely, he never did anything but suck up anyway, never been in a hot spot his whole career kinda like you.

Have you thought about taking some spelling and grammar courses during your down time at the fire station?

You like to fall back on the second class city reference a lot......And it sure is second class - no doubt.

Legally in NYS the fire chief is to determine the cause of every fire in his or her area of responsibility. Now, they can chose to delegate it out. But facts are facts. You could call OFPC for investigations. But that wouldn't keep the union dues flowing.

Actually since Utica is governed by NYS law under the Second Class City section, then it is not falling back on anything, its following the LAW.

I just wanna sit in the back room and watch TV for my 24 hr shift and be left alone. Occasionally being disturbed to respond with lights and sirens to EMS calls like headaches is OK. Just gimme my $25 an hour.

There will be layoffs in the future and you can take that to the bank, city assessment rolls are decreasing yearly and the population of property owners are dwindling, the well is empty and if I was a public safety worker with little seniority I would not be buying any big ticket items in the future.

Before they can have any layoffs, the City Charter has to be changed in order to legally change the size of the police and fire departments. Without doing that, the City would be opening themselves up to a huge legal battle.

Don't hate the world because you're a utican parasite.

Utica must pad their population somehow, that isn't even a second-class city. I can't wait until it all comes tumbling down and these parasite's meager pensions are worth pennies on the dollar like Detroit and Bell Ca.

Hence why county and city politicos are in and race for "consilidation". What a joke. Let's call it what it is. They're in a race to get there hands on other people's money in the form of new revenue steams. All that untapped gold out in those bustling suburbs. They must drool with anticipation of all that coin they could be prying away.

Except they already "tap" that gold in those suburbs. Do you not think suburbs pay taxes and suddenly will after a consolidation?

Really .lay offs . disband the fire department, fire them all. You jerk offs it will never never happen. It has been around for 135 + years. and you the likes off Pete (no Balls) Ciminaro Crying layoffs he has been saying that for 25 years since he was first ratting for Hanna, Whats the matter CRY BABIES Took the test and never passes high enough to get appointed, You think sitting around is the job. you jerk offs.Until its you kid, your mother, or your father getting CPR under the Christmas tree. Then the tough az hole tightens and the wittle crier changes his tune JERK OFFS
AND if you think all I make is 25$$ an hour, man that's peanuts. By the way I have never seen one wife, or girl friend of any complaining jerk that could not wait to jump me, Great way for the little women to break the ice. Keep complaining Love to power FXCK them. OF course after I cash my check.
Best part is retirement HOW SWEET IT IS, I probably make more in retirement than your whole linage ever made. How sweet it is.
PS sorry for the grammar mistakes. I was never any good in English. but knocking heads is another story. Fire stations are public buildings stop in at any time,, MAN UP. bring the wife she probably knows the way
