Ok, Ill be the jerk and say what everyone else is thinking....enough is enough with ice bucket thing. Challenge a friend to send ten bucks to ALS charity...if everyone did that it would be way more productive. Bucket of cold water ? It doesnt "raise awareness." It gets you cold. I think were all aware of ALS. Buy a raffle ticket to support ALS, or send a check in...put that on your facebook, thats wayyyyyy more impressive.

No! What would be impressive is if you are struck down by an insidious disease that eats away at your body while it leaves your mind intact to suffer every minute of it.

THAT IS WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS THINKING!!!!!!

And how does ice water help ? Dr.? All im saying is start coughing up the cash. I know no one with ALS, yet. I spend two hundred bucks a year on raffle tickets that support ALS. Would it be better for the cause to dump ice water on my head, and keep the cash ? How many people are just dumping the water because everyone else is doing it. Dont be so naive...

Your absolutely correct ENOUGH. Most people do the challenge to be cool. They could care less about ALS. Instead of pouring cold water over your head donate 10 bucks and dump the water over your head.

Actually, some of you people have missed the point. The reality is that most people are dumping the ice water AND sending in a check. The ALS foundation's contributions are up over 700% from this same time last year because of this. Most people...not all, but most people..are doing it because it gets people talking about it but they are sending in money too.

If you want to be a person who sends in a check anonymously because you feel it is the right thing to do and don't care for the fanfare, then please do so. That is no problem. But a 700% increase through this social media chain appears to have been a pretty successful marketing campaign.

Share with us the idea you would have used to get donations up 700% in a matter of a few weeks? I can't wait to hear your genius idea. I can tell you that if people just posted a not in their Facebook feed saying please support ALS with a donation, it wouldn't have been nearly as successful. This personalized the campaign for many people!

15 million dollars have been raised, as today. Up from $25,000, on doing it the old fund raising way. This is a horrible disease. Sick of it, hardly. Join the 'phenomenon!' Be thankful you can dump a bucket yourself.

are you dying? do you have a debillitating disease? are you paralyzed? most good people who have any of these things have lived without complaining and have friends to rely on either with a benefit or just being there for you.if you're a pos,, than look around, there are are agencies to help even you!!!!!

The challenge has nothing to do with donating cash. Well not in Utica anyway. It's a bunch of white trash trying to get attention on Facebook. If they cared about ALS they would donate and not post videos of themselves looking like death and there falling apart pool from 1976. Real losers. People who live out of state must sit back and laugh and say look at this trash

It doesn't matter what you post as; everytime you post your idiocy you make a fool of yourself. ALS is a deserving cause, and if donars have some fun while donating, it is much better than desparaging those who give of themselves.

With the drought out west I believe they'd get arrested for wasting a bucket of water like that.

This thread has been deemed idiotic and unnecessary. Haters hating pure and simple. Ice Bucket Challenge has already raised 5 million for research, so it's working for something. Unlike you losers who put it down and are pissed that your EBT card can't help you with donations. Oh and if you don't know someone with ALS, consider yourself lucky. It's a terrible way to watch someone you love suffer and pass away.

If you think the poor trash in this area is donating a single dime to anyone you're nuts.
