Are you sad that the annual beer run is over?
Well I guess the real tragedy is that any and all road paving, cleaning, grass maintenance, etc. is done until next spring. Also, the explosion of summertime gunfire and block riots will continue anew. It was nice while it lasted.

It's not like any of the out of town runners stay here more than 5 minutes longer than they need to, they're not crazy. No sane person who can immediately exit the area would choose to stay here.
Wrong just wrong

Get some standards. The "race" is an exploitation of that city and the people who live there under the pretense of "giving back". They don't even pay for the expenses the city incurs and the only people who benefit form it are the few vendors and the people at the top of the chain. It benefits the FEW. They don't even take in a million for that hell hole. Since 1978 they haven't caused and "major" improvements or change. It's a tourist trap wannabe "event" designed to look like some Olympic event.

Hey, I didn't say the entire thing wasn't ridiculous. It's just then when I'm forced to pass through Utica most of the time it's nice to see the blankets of garbage disappear for a while.

The race is over at noon and runners are hungry afterwards. If restaurants in Utica stayed open on Boilermaker Sunday they could make thousands. I'm just saying.

Hard to tell for all the blankets of dilapidated houses and boilermaker banners dangling around. The rats nests of telephone wires in the sky always do wonders to distract away from the garbage fluttering all over.

Nobody will visit Utica until next year. The hotels will go back to being brothels and drug dens.
Don't forget the 30 porno shoots they've had there in the last 6 years.

At least people are together for awhile in a positive way. Exercise is heart-healthy too. I think the best part is seeing the volunteers handing water, popsicles, etc. out to everyone. I think that's worth it. They are doing something good for free.- That's a win-win feeling for runners, walkers, spectators, and the volunteers.

You have to admit that the race certainly brings the community outside in a united way. There should be more things like this.

Guess it's all where you place your focus.

Wrong distance running causes heart scarring didn't you read any of the medical papers they were tweeting during the boilermaker? Time to come out of the 1970s people that kind of destructive exercise like at the Boilermaker Road Race destroys your body. It also turns you into a leathery piece of beef jerky with cellulite. You train your body to drip cellulite. Read up and educate yourselves don't be sucker. A frigging cripple walkathon would be healthier.

I agree. Except for the it was nice while it lasted part, Nothing about exploiting and distracting the city for the benefit of the few in nice. It's pretty dirty behind the curtain when you look at them. Not talking about the clueless dumb ya ya ya volunteers I mean the bums that wouldn't be there if not for having their fingers in "the big pie" in some way or fashion. What a phony circus all they need according to them at Saranac and Utica Boilers -Boilermaker is a bigger tent.

Depends are your training and if you did the 15K or 5K, how often you do it, etc. Certainly your "wrong" distance running can be "right" if done moderately.

Are you fat?
