Trad's, corner of South and Mohawk Streets. Two cigarettes for a nickel.Dick Martel playing " Duke of Earl" on the juke box over and over.Jimmy Doti wearing stretch pants and mashed potato boots. Moses stopping for the red light on South with his Chevy 409, we,d say, "lets hear it Moses". He would lay rubber all the way to St. Vincent St. Mike DeSantis kicking some goofy brothers ass, trying to start trouble on our corner. he punched him all the way up to Conkling School. Joe Machine, Butch Mancuso's father would walk by and start telling us stories of the past. He'd talk for hours and we could't leave. Running home at a certain hour of the evening to watch 'The Fugative" on TV. Dougy Paciello running virtually at a 45 degree angle playing touch football across the street in the shopping plaza's parking lot. Ronnie Rich breaking into the East Side from Corn Hill to visit Anna his girlfriend and future wife. Jimmy Tebsherany had a 59 Chevy we'd go riding in, Bobby Talerico had an old Buick, we literally painted the interior a differant color with a paint brush. Vinny Cannistra saying "save me your butt" meaning the last few drags of your cigarette. Sometimes no nickel to buy 2 from Mr. Trad.Mike Yozzo, John Doti, Julio DeSantis,Dennis Della Gala, John Paciello, Oh my God we can go on and on! We moved up a few years later to Dandee Donuts and WOW! the list of names gets bigger and bigger. Old friends, can you name a few? Girls too. One of the greatest of the Dandee Donuts times was Georgia Reesh. Keep it going!!!

I remember ice skating at Mary Street park, Regal rest (Bleeker & Jefferson) pizza. Walking home from Wetmore school hoping Albert DeVito would notice me. Being in 6th grade at Wetmore when President Kennedy was shot. My friends were Betty Biadsow & Joanne Femalro, the lived on Mary Street.
Oh does anyone remember the place where they would kill a chicken for you. You could pick it out alive & the give it to you wrapped & ready to cook. It was in the 1000 block of Bleecker St, between Nichols and Jefferson?
