I have not been there in years. When he changed it that was the end of it. It sucked! There was no privacy while eating and for that kind of money we didn't want to share with others! Shortly afterwards, he had a fire and I am sure it's changed inside!
Yes, at that time, his food was interesting when his father was running the place! If he really had any culinary talent, Mr. Symeon never would have moved here, he would have stayed in Montreal, ON, Canada or other much more culinary palatable places in America! I would like to invite a famous culinary expert to ask their opinion about his food and his Greek talents! I bet he would be highly critical of Symeon's and rate it poorly!
Staying in this area leads me to believe he had no culinary talent to make it as a food genius in Montreal! Montreal would have been the best place to stay but I don't think he could handle competition or criticism.
This is not the area for expertise, this is only the area for criminal enterprise!

Symeon's is hardly authentic Greek. It is imitation Greek food for people who don't know what Greek food is.

BECAUSE if you have awesome
Marketing and create a want and a desire to eat there people will eat there. Not to mention 90 percent of Central New York hasn't even left the state, nevermind been to Greece where they would know what authentic greek food really tastes like. Another example VOSS's is gross nasty out of the freezer food but yet it's packed. Authentic? Steamed ham on a buttered bun is hardly BBQ! Simple food for simple minded area I suppose.

If they give small portions, they are no TRUE Greek rest/diner! All Greeks give large portions in any Greek restaurant or Diner. Greeks are known for serving breakfast and staying open 24 hours a day. THERE are NO true Greek restaurants or Diners in the upstate region. NONE!
