Great news! Dunham Library is getting a new director. Now maybe it can get back to what it was, with an amiable staff and great service. Let's hope the new director is better than the last one. Would be hard to get any worse.

The service has always been good at Dunham Library. Can't say the same for the NH library though.

Yeah maybe that Ed and his merry band of neigh Sayers can go over there and spread some hate and distrust of everyone. I'm sure they'd love his special sense of anti establishment and walking over a dollar to save a penny. unchecked he can shut down and close the Dunham library too. There wouldn't be a library in this whole county when he's done unless of course they're all named after him or some baloney.
Down with any who have served for years on end! Consolidation! Metro Goverment! All hail the furer!
Hahaha.

You ain't whistlin' Dixie about Wiatr and his crew! They are on a mission to cause trouble wherever and whenever they can and to stop any REAL civic-minded citizens from volunteering for boards of directors. What a shame!

Have you been to Dunham lately? What a mess! Movable desks and no new books or DVDs. Used to be a great library, not anymore.

If you think its so bad, help them out with a donation of money or books or DVDs or your time. Then they can add books and DVDs. Oh, wait ..... what's wrong with me ..... complaining and doing nothing to help is soooooooo much easier.

There is nothing wrong with the library. They are just moving things around. No big deal. The stuff is still there. I guess you had trouble finding it, huh?

And if you've watched every DVD they have there, which is probably 2000+, I'd say you have the problem. No life.

Thank you for the advice. I'll take another look and will try to not complain in the future. I'm sure everything you say is correct.

Definitely better than New Hartford. No shrines to departed relatives.

More of everything compared to New Hartford library. Better service. And no shrine. Not creepy.

I love the NH Library shrine. Someday, I want my own shrine. It's so classy.

OK. I've returned a few times to the Dunham Library and I stand by what I said before. The place is mixed up and disorganized. There are very few new books and DVDs and the staff seem to be very unhappy, almost surly. Even though I pay taxes in that district, I'm going to the Utica Library from now on.

Yes, peeps, more everything for you and if you don't find what you want don't stamp your feet and hold your breath for too long. And as far as the directors go, I didn't know the previous director and have never even seen much less met the new one. I'm not pointing fingers. I'm just saying that the library has gone downhill recently and I've gone to that library for a very long time.

I did. The suggestions are probably never read. I've come to the library and it is the atmosphere around there and the fact that there are very few new books and dvds. For what I pay in taxes, I'm not getting my money's worth now.

I decided that I wasn't being fair. So I visited lots of libraries around. Dunham is the worst. It's the staff who are surly and NEVER smile. And no new books. What's the point of a bookstore in a library anyway. I really like the smaller libraries like New York Mills and Oriskany but Utica is good too. The worst part is that I pay taxes to support the Dunham library and I'm not getting my moneys worth. Where's the Board in all of this.
