they just had an announcement on Monday that one dept will be done on July 31 about 30-50 people. Some of those jobs are being outsourced to India and other to other parts of the US.
Nice we are helping build India's economy.

Yes. Bank of America is being bought out and will no longer be. Look on the internet.

Impossible! Bank of America holds 12% of the Nations deposits, they couldn't legally be "bought out" because they are already too large.

Also, the call center is just one small part of the operations that take place at BOA on Horatio St.

I work for Bank of America on Horation Street-- It is true that our text chat specialist jobs have moved to India because the number of complaints on not understanding an Indian associate for when a customer inquires on their account. Every text chat associate, however, still is employed as a voice associate. Yes, their job titles are different, but employed nonetheless.

Gotta love it 56 people are out of a job as of July 31st with 36 of those jobs going to India, and the best part is an Indian came in to tell them they are out of jobs. So thanks for the bail out money to save Bank of India oh I mean Bank of America

The real reason BOA is getting rid of Utica people is the lously work ethic most have. Most of the call center employees have "too much drama" in their lives, can't come to work on time, play on the internet too much, and provide lousy customer service.

if you think for one minute that the call center on horatio is not going to close your nuts. why would they not send the jobs to India? They would be saving a ton of money. Just be prepared for it if you work there and not ignorant. Its not a question of it will close, its a question of when its going to close. Have a backup plan!

I just heard that they are remodeling the building and the only reason they are doing it is so they will have a good selling price. Rumors are flying that in the next three years the Bank of America center in Utica will no longer exist and will be sold for a good price. Sorry to everyone who works there.

They are remodeling one small section, apparently the section you work in. You apparently have no idea how big it really is. The Bank also doesn't even own the building, it is leased.

The Utica site that is closing and sending jobs to India is the Teller Services Department. That entire department is gone as of July 31st. It is too bad because it was the best department in the country - it came under goal every month for 18 months straight - no other Teller Services Dept in the country kept up with them. As for the renovations - the whole building is being done and according to mgmt - BoA owns this building.
