A man was found dead in an apartment in NYC. he had typed a confession to the murder and left it to be found with his body.
Who types a confession then kills themselves? Remember we aren't talking about recent times. Computers were unheard of as were word processors.
LOL, Yeah right, and it wasn't a set up to cover up who really did it.

I will never believe that a man from NYC came to Utica and killed Brindisi's partner, And they said he was shot in head execution style.

Right. It had nothing to do with the man who killed himself. A real cover up and once again the person that committed the crime gets away with it.

Hey, it is who you know around here. If they like you, you can get away with murder.

In the 1970's a highschool girl was killed and her body was found naked and tied to a tree in Proctor park. Any credible theories? I always thought that Bernard Hatch was the culprit. They should try to test the evidence for DNA. Alot of advances in forensic science since then

That was not in Proctor park.
It was in the woods off The Hills Drive.
She was a lovely girl from a very nice family.
The case was never solved although there are several theories.

I believe it was in 1973 and the newspaper carried a story for a few days last month about the DA's office was still investigating this and holding it a high priority.

I think they are still at nothing although a new tip has come in that they are investigating it.

A little bit before my time but I did alot of research on Hatch. Was he investigated? I'd hate to think that some scumbag got away with murdering an innocent girl.

In 1987, Mikelis Kirsteins, a retired Whitesboro meat inspector, was arrested for a 46-year old crime. Upon his capture, Kirsteins suffered a heart attack, and spent the next few weeks in the hospital, while a case was built against him. What was the crime for which Kirsteins was arrested?

Don't know that but was remembering some rather large drug bust in the late 80s. Was headlined in the papers and the case had a somewhat interesting background, perhaps mafia related too. Anyone remember this?

The United States filed a complaint on July 15, 1987 in the Northern District of New York seeking to revoke Kirsteins' citizenship pursuant to section 340(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, as amended, 8 U.S.C. Sec. 1451(a). The complaint alleged that Kirsteins, who entered this country in 1956 and became a United States citizen in 1965, personally assisted in the persecution of Jews
On November 21, 1988, the government filed a motion for summary judgment on count V of the complaint, which charged that Kirsteins procured his citizenship illegally because he lacked the required "good moral character" in that he willfully concealed his activities in the Arajs Kommando in order to secure the benefit of the immigration laws. In support of the motion, the government attached transcripts of an interview with Kirsteins conducted by lawyers from the Justice Department's Office of Special Investigations ("OSI") in two sessions, February 17 and 23, 1987, in the United States Attorney's Office in Syracuse, New York. In that interview, Kirsteins admitted, under oath, that he had voluntarily become a member of the Arajs Kommando shortly after the German occupation of Latvia, that the group had rounded up and executed Jews, that he had personally stood guard as Arajs Kommando gunners executed Jews, and that he had concealed his wartime affiliation with the group in order to gain entrance into the United States.
