Interesting link! After a quick scan there is certainly way more to this story.

First off, how can they afford a building when they ran a 300,000 deficit?

Second, what is the real story on the split from the YMCA building?

Three, who is this firm that they paid 150000 too? Family connection, professional connection?

450000 in mailings?

Can anyone out there elaborate?

That accounting does raise some interesting questions. Some of those expenditures seem pretty askew.

Feed Our Vets is a NFP so there is NO tax breaks to begin with for them. As is the case with ALL NFP's, they are supposed to give a receipt for ALL donations received.

yeah they give the receipt and they have to show the amount of the receipt to the tax man and then they add it up total for the tax man DUH... then the tax man keeps track of all the receipts sent in to them and then they put it in a file and or computer file with the tax id number and it all adds up to over 800,000 that's if everyone used the receipt given to them from the not for profit for the foods amount in dollars... if they didn't keep track the not for profit could write out hundreds of thousands in receipts from people who donated food someone cant clam food they need something to show they gave the food and the amount and they trust the nfp to put the amount but they still have ways to check everything
