I donít get it? Are you trying to say that Stewarts is involved in a conspiracy with the mayor to buy contaminated property? How does Stewarts benefit from this? I thought the city was trying to get Stewarts away from this site and into a West Utica site. I must be missing something here. If Stewarts wants to invest money in East Utica, why would anyone be against it unless they were afraid of the competition (now that is something you should be looking in to)? I can see trying to get them to also invest in West Utica but that should be a corporate decision. If the city really wants investment in that side of the city they could offer tax incentives as a way to promote it.Wonder why this has been a secret?? Wonder no more.
I think you will find that the majority of East Utica residents fear one thing over all others; CHANGE. It doesnít matter where Stewarts decided to build in this area; the residents of East Utica would be against it. In Utica ďchangeĒ is a four letter word. For example; people in this city have been complaining about the arterial since it was first built but every plan to change or improve it has been met with criticism. In other word; we donít like the way things are but we donít want anything to change. I guess that kind of explains Uticaís politics also.
Have a great weekend Bobby. I'll talk to you again on Monday, God willing.
