I donít get it? Are you trying to say that Stewarts is involved in a conspiracy with the mayor to buy contaminated property? How does Stewarts benefit from this? I thought the city was trying to get Stewarts away from this site and into a West Utica site. I must be missing something here. If Stewarts wants to invest money in East Utica, why would anyone be against it unless they were afraid of the competition (now that is something you should be looking in to)? I can see trying to get them to also invest in West Utica but that should be a corporate decision. If the city really wants investment in that side of the city they could offer tax incentives as a way to promote it.

I think you will find that the majority of East Utica residents fear one thing over all others; CHANGE. It doesnít matter where Stewarts decided to build in this area; the residents of East Utica would be against it. In Utica ďchangeĒ is a four letter word. For example; people in this city have been complaining about the arterial since it was first built but every plan to change or improve it has been met with criticism. In other word; we donít like the way things are but we donít want anything to change. I guess that kind of explains Uticaís politics also.

Have a great weekend Bobby. I'll talk to you again on Monday, God willing.

Yes. That's why the city is destroyed and full of lazy, corrupt lowlife "leaders" who couldn't SURVIVE outside of Utica. They ruined it with decades of crony capitalism and phony "projects". Let's not forget the systemically racist poLICE department!

Utica soooo got what it deserved!

Exactly correct about this boilermaker person. The mayor is trying to do him a favor and it back fired. Notice how the corrupt mayor said he didn't recommend this property but they came on there own? LIE

Who cares who owns the property. It has never been hidden everyone knows the garage owners owned the building. It was not like the property was in a LLC name or corporation. Also if they want to build there let them. It's there decision and I believe it's a great location. Seems like the pizzerias and nice and easy is scared of competition. Stewarts would make a killing there.

No they don't get it. They feel "entitled" to screwing over the taxpayers. It's the Utica way - rob, lie, cheat and shady deals but the second someone questions their scams they get all belligerent.

Palmieri is an azzhole, they never will understand that people can see them for what they are. They act all incredulous when exposed..

I think soon it will be time to start hammering the Boilergasm phonies soon. Nobody owes those leeches an NFP site or a living. Look what these shady dealers do when they think nobody sees it. Helping themselves and working backroom scams.

This is just the latest in a parade of affronts from these parasites. One good lawsuit or class-action suit will bury the Boilermaker forever. Just imagine what the news would be like without the endless bullshit reports about the boilergasm fairys trying to commandeer any event as an excuse for publicity for their cheesy races and other walks runs and drives. It's pretty sad when these people forget who and what they really are.

Yet another scammy move to benefit "the few" at the cost to the many.

Bring frank vecera in on it. Oh wait, he won't make any money off this deal so he really doesn't care what happens, unless it concerns his property or a money making scheme.

I am glad more people get the unwelcome surprise of waking up one day and realizing that the leaders representing people who live in that whole area just plain suck. It hurts but if you rout it out and raise holy hell about it it could change. But I doubt it. The refugees and the people who don't know the Friends and Family never had a chance there unless they split.

This is why they don't like open online property databases. Half of their homes are considerably under appraised and they like to "take names" of the people who just want transparency. It's the whole NY attitude with a redneck cowtown twist. "Mafia wannabes meet The Beverly Hillbillies".

It's led by goofballs. GoofStock '99. Like 1899.

As Judge Judy says, if it smells fishy, it is fishy! Pam,ieri, you will never be re-elected!!! You are so corrupt!!!

The owners, Stasaitis and Burth have a right to make money, but now there is no way they can sell w/o full disclosure of the contamination. This shouldn't be the issue, but rather why is the planning board which I believe is appointed by the mayor and the mayor himself not doing more to protect the neighborhoods in the name of economic development? The planning board went against the wishes of North Uticans when they approved the apartments in the former motel. I think that this proves that the mayor and councilors are not working together. I just seems the mayor will sacrifice neighborhoods despite his rants of quality of life. Why was codes not trying to get thisproperty cleaned up? I think some of the previous comments shed some light on this.

Bobby, I hope you had a nice weekend.

You make a claim that the property Stewart's is looking to buy is contaminated. It was my understanding that the state cleaned up this property a while ago and that there is ongoing litigation with the state trying to get reimbursed for the clean-up costs. A 2009 decision ruled that the state could not collect for these costs and the state is appealing that decision. You might want to look into this.

BAD,
Our information is that the cleanup is not complete by current standards. Hence the 2012 case.
Further, because there was a cleanup, there were processes that the City was supposed to engage in that they failed to execute. This is a much larger concern than what actually happened during the 1950's.
I will happily, and probably will have to anyway, review it many more times.
Bobby,

http://www.bcalbany.com/index.php/environment...

Read this, paragraph #3 states that the clean-up was done by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) using monies from the State Oil Spill Fund. Since the clean-up was performed by the state, I don't see why the city would need to do anything.

The contamination mystery is only part of the problem, homies. Why is it that Palmieri & Stewart's are so hell bent on Culver Ave? Many uticans have told me that what it sounds like to them are a series of pay offs in the back room for boilermaker folk & Palmieri alike. If Stewart's is so community oriented, they should go where they are needed and wanted...West Utica!

So none of you think that this is a financial decision made by Stewarts to make a profit? You honestly think that Stewarts choosing East Utica over West Utica has something to do with the Boilermaker. Why? What does Stewarts owe the mayor? If Stewarts thought they could make a larger profit by building in West Utica they would do it. You people are so hell-bent to find corruption you are inventing it. I am definitely not a fan of the mayor but this is way off base. I think it would be easier to find corruption with the group that is opposing this. Maybe some of the businesses in the area are influencing this debate. Letís face it; they have more to lose than the home-owners in the area.
