Take a ride down LaFayette Street at about 7:50 on a weekday and see these scammers sitting in their cars doing nothing waiting for shift change. I counted 6 patrol cars parked waiting the time away. Each one of them watched the passing cars before heading back to punch out. Disgusting.

A whole 10 minutes they weren't out raising revenue for the state's coffers.

At least 10 minutes multiplied by how many officers do this each and everyday every shift. Lots of tax dollars wasted paying them to sit in cars jerking off. Before they started working on the arterial, they would park under the bridge between Columbia and LaFayette.
Taxeaters.

After a tough night of chasing down preteens, and suffering debilitating injuries taking him down - they should be allowed to JO in the car before shift change.

Just clean it up, we own those cars. Carbone doesn't want them back once they get sticky.

They are actually SAVING the city money by sitting in their cars, parked in a safe location near station. Considering the lost time, comp injuries, replacement OT, etc.... due to getting their azzes handed to them by kids, much cheaper to just stay in the car.

Do you still have to give them "show up pay", or whatever they call that added wad of cash to get them to put on their uniforms and prepare for their shift?

would you rather they wait and pull into the station at 8am and clock out by 8:10am. So we can pay each and every officer 10 minutes of overtime every shift?

With the gangs of marauding preteens in Utica, punching the cops lights out, you would stay in the car too. Yikes. We don't want anymore hospitalized cops.

Hey, here's a thought, skippy: show up for work ready to work.

It is expected of countless people all over the place, in all sorts of occupations, every day.

If you and your fellow cops need extra time to figure out how to tie your shoes and zip your jackets, SHOW UP EARLY.

I won't show up early if I had to face preteen gangs and get beat up. UPD is a tough job.

number one, im not a cop nor have I ever been. Number 2, I work for a delivery company and If im not back to the garage ready to clock out on time, then I have explaining to do. Because it cost my company $ to pay me overtime if I clock out past due everyday... so im sure the same prinicples apply at the police station. it seems you just have some personal angle against the cops
