Whitesboro Fish Market is pretty good and so is West End Seafood in Utica. I've had good luck with both in the past.....

They've got black crappie down in the Barge Canal. West Uticans all seem to love it.

Personally though, I'd recommend a road trip to the Florida Gulf Coast. Better seafood and much better weather year-round.

In this area, I think you're better off making it yourself. I went to Stans Seafood today actually:) I did clams on the grill along with a huge salmon filet:) I found a recipe on the internet and tried it:) It was great!

I'm a little weary of eating seafood in a town 5 hours from the ocean. Stick with Italian in Utica.

Chowder House is excellent. Reasonably priced, consistant, and good service.
