You're a liar. That was not a "typo." You referred to Milton Friedman, one of the 20th century's most respected and revered economists, as "Milton FREEMAN" over and over and over again, supposedly citing "him" as supporting ridiculous propositions he never advocated, thereby proving you nothing about him or economics.
As for a reply to your idiocy, I think Bodi did just fine. There is no empirical data to definitely support your assertion that increasing the minimum wage increases unemployment or causes a spike in inflation. If you are aware of such proof, post it.

To all those who responded to my missive with such vile and petty nonsense,

I did not say that a hike in the minimum wage would create an inflationary spike. I said it would create inflationary pressure that would obviate that rise in the minimum wage.

When costs go up prices go up to pay for those higher costs. Please explain how I am wrong.

And Utica 34 you are so ignorant that you made my argument for me while you thought you were being smart. If McDonald's is forced by the government to pay their employees more then they will pass that cost on to the consumer. If the consumer refuses to pay the price that McDonald's needs to make a profit then there is no need for as many employees and so some will be laid off and others will never be hired, new restaurants will not be built etc.

And a higher minimum wage helps those unemployed workers how?

Typical of the illiberal attitudes that you represent you call me names but can't counter my point. All emotion and no thought and an inability to use basic logic. That is the quintessential useful idiot and you are all are very useful idiots being used by politicians and power brokers. Because you have been so easily lead your intellect has atrophied.

This thread is a shining example of illiberal thought that the left has today.

So come on all you towering intellectual midgets prove me wrong with a well thought out response to my argument in your own words.

First of all I'm not ignorant but thank you. About the McDonald's scenario they can only raise prices so much and you are ASSUMING they will raise prices. When a CEO of McDonald's gets a raise do they raise prices? When a manager gets a raise at McDonald's do they raise prices? When a McDonald's store remodels do they raise prices?

Again1.7 million Americans are paid minimum wage. Another 2 plus million are actually paid less. The US population is roughly 314 million. This will have zero negative impact and is quite frankly just a scare tactic.

Should the minimum wage be lowered then to help them? If it were would the small businesses cut prices? Would they hire more employees? I mean everyone assumes the opposite if the minimum wage is raised so I guess it's safe to assume this would happen if the minimum wage were lowered correct?

as a small bussness owner i do know that we have about 28 to30 young kids that work for us.ages 16 to 20 when mimimun wage goes to 9.00 we cant afford it. all part timers .and most are 16 and only should get 7.00 an hour.unless hard workers. but have you ever seen a 16 year old that wants to work and not sleep.not many. so in end our prices have to go up and we will get rid of about 10 kids. this is a entry job . not there job for the rest of there life, just my 2 cent but think about it,
Thank you. Finally someone with a valid opinion.

I can see why clifton park has a low crime rate, only 1 percent black population. Not having to feed the blacks you would think they could fix the roads though, or grow some grass.

Unemployment has gone from 2 percent in 2000 to 5.7 percent in 2012, must be why there are 10 used car dealers.

Who wants a 40,000,00 house for 400,000,00.
With crab grass.

Drive up and down 146, looks like a dump. Roads falling apart.
The intersection of 146 and clifton county rd, can't afford new lines, how about all the white lines that continue into the intersections, looks like the people of clifton aren't smart enough to enter the correct lanes without help. See hundreds of cheap jap cars, lots of rich people buy used hyundai's.

Home sales have dropped way down in 2012, new permits went from 250 in 2000 to 17 now.

Super growth.

You do have a super Clifton Park tourist attractions, Clifton Park, NY - Mall, oooo a mall.

So when will everyone chip in for paint ?

Only 8 registered sex offenders.

High taxes for the 40,000,00 house that cost 400,000,00.

I want to move from Chicago to clifton for the roads and grass. Who wouldn't pay 400,000,00 for a small 40,000,00 house.

How much have you raised for paint so far ?

So nothing you've posted proves one thing.

So you failed, used car salesman fail all their lives.

Doesn't prove the massive drop in home permits, home sales, property value drop, raise in unemployment, 8 sex offenders, 700 crimes.

FAIL.

You do have a tourist attraction, A MALL.

DRUM ROLL A MALL, A MALL.
