We are very near Tocqueville's tipping point.

I can paraphrase what he said but I can't quote it off the top of my head but it goes something like this:

When the majority of citizens of a democratic republic discover that they can vote themselves free stuff then the republic falls.

We are very close to that point because between deductions, credits, loopholes and entitlements just about half the population doesn't pay income taxes.

The very first thing to go would be the earned income tax credit. It is rediculous that someone who earns twelve thousand dollars gets a four thousand dollar refund

It's pitiful that I'm a white middle aged male within the so called "middle class" bracket and things are tough. The world is in a pitiful state as of right now and the US is no different! I hear everyone complaining about Obama this, Romney that, Republican vs. Democrat! And all that does is keep people away from the honest truth about what our problems really are! The reason why inflation screws everything up is only because of our system that allows the "money-changers" to make a profit off of the rest of us!

The cost of everything is thru the roof and it is the fault of our system and those who make the rest of us suffer in order to line their own pockets! 99.9% of our Politicians are in the game for themselves and their selves ONLY! And the ones who try to do good get bounced out very quick or labeled as nutjobs! Once you realize that fact, it becomes very obvious that neither major parts gives a damn about the average US citizen! They use us as pawns for their own benefit! Obama and Romney are part of that group, so wake up America!

It's really pitiful that there are people in this country that can't see thru the smoke and mirrors game that our politicians play with us! As long as the Republicans can get their "people" to hate the Democrats and vice versa, nothing will ever change!

And what's really pitiful is the choice that we've been given between candidates! This is the best there is? It's an insult to every citizen that these 2 guys are the best that is offered to us!

You are correct! But the corporations will never be forced to pay their fair share because the corporations have bought and paid for our politicians to make sure of that. It's sad that the SCOTUS ruled the way they did about Corporations and their "rights". It was a game changing decision that sealed the fate of the US tax paying citizen. Money always ruled our system, they just went public with it in a very public way by that ruling. Anyone who thinks the system is not rigged against the average citizen is either extremely stupid or extremely naive. So go ahead America. Keep on thinking that the American Dream is still alive and well so you don't get depressed and kill yourself!

I would look but Romney and the boys swear on a stack of Mormon bibles that its not that way. Once Romney shows his tax returns I'll know for sure.

So the millionaires that have zero tax liability shouldn't be able to vote either? We are bankrupted by the people who are out for themselves at the expense of everybody else. That includes the leeches who have never worked and don't want to work AND the super rich who have made sure to buy our politicians so they can rig the game in their favor. Yes I will agree that the super rich who do not pay a lot in taxes or nothing at all are doing it "legally". The question and concern about that should be focused on exactly "how and why" that situation is legal.

You are also obviously lumping everybody who in any way shape or form that collects something from the government as a "leech". Fix the system so it cannot be abused, then we can talk. But if you are talking about people who have worked and paid into the system their whole life and now must go on welfare or unemployment because their livelihood has been outsourced to another country, then you need to make some distinctions between people. It's very easy to just keep spitting out the same old party line without really detailing what and who you're complaining about, because if you had to honestly break it down and analyze the situation, you couldn't keep repeating the same old tired rhetoric that keeps people away from the truth of the situation.

Obama the failure:

Bush received the PDB "Bin Laden determined to attack in the U.S." while Vacationing in Crawford Texas, and then continued the single longest Vacation of his or any other Presidency. Then Bin Laden attacked. NOT IN LIBYA!!!! IN THE U.S.!!!

Do any of you Angry Moronic Jack Holes realize, My Senior Citizen Parents(dad is a vet) pay no Federal Income Tax? Because their income is pitiful.

You F**king people should be ASHAMED of yourselves,(romney included) does it ever occur to ANY of you, how totally Disgusting it is that there are SO MANY AMERICANS who earn such a pittance that they are NOT REQUIRED to pay Federal Income Taxes?

Aim your vitriol where it belongs. I know full well, who you hateful people picture in your Tiny little minds, when Romney talks about those 47%. The amount of Money that has been "redistributed" upward since the 1980's has resulted in a Middle Class that is diminished to the point where a "good paying" job is no longer enough to live on.

Think People! Who should we really be angry with?

Obama didn't do this.

Romney is not going to win and he's going to take others running for other offices with him. Dems are going to win White House and will maintain the Senate. They will also pick up House seats. Sorry guys, not much new is going to happen.
Blame yourself, not anyone else. You people chose him as your candidate, not the democrats. He is a bad candidate, who is running a terrible campaign. He'd make a terrible president and would have a very inept administration. Luckily, he's not going to get that chance.

47% of the people leech off those of us that work and pay taxes. These 47% use the roads and bridges but they paid zero tax to build them. Time for the 47% to start paying their fair share.

That stupid 47% statement of Romney's will cost him the election. He's like a lot of "money People". They are smart about making money and completelyignorant of everything else. Obama has street smarts. Romney never had a chance. There's not enough ignorant, angry white men to help him. BTW Teo is a pompous ass! Much like Romney, he has the emotional IQ of a turnip.
