How anyone can feel empathy for some loser guitar player out of the Utica area with 5 DWI's is beyond me. Have to wonder if he killed one of your children in one of his drunken driving nights out if you'd feel the same. Face it, he was caught 5 times driving drunk, how many times do you think he WASN'T caught? That's the real question...The guy is a loser (and a balding one at that).

Too Funny, the new copies cost $1.38 and used go for 38 cents. Real collector items! Do I smell Rock & Roll Hall of Fame?
Hey, by the way, does this guy drive without a license or something? Honestly, how can he even own and insure a vehicle? Time for this local 'rockstar' to get a chauffeur, eh? Where's all his roadies?
Hey, don't discredit John! The new copis sell don't sell for a penny less than $1.80!

Typical Mohawk Valley Bullshit! That is why I left for greener pastures. If I lived back in that toilet I would drink myself into oblivious too. It is quite despicable that Liebing is a chronic drunk driver but of course nobody up there in Death Valley gave a crap about the guy to take his keys away or get him into rehab.
Jon can't be all that bad of a musician because he can get totally bombed and still manage to entertain the valley cretins. Maybe I should have boozed when I played in the depressing toilet that is the Utica Rome area. Heroine would have been an even better choice.
Kick em when they are down. Typical Mohawk Valley mentality.
Jon is nothing special as a musician singer song writer but look where he plays. I suppose if he had cut his teeth in an area where most people were not a bunch of A holes with their heads up their butts Jon would have remained sober and perhaps he would have written some hit songs. Sadly, he got stuck in death valley where ignorance and mediocrity are the industry standard.
I am so happy that I don't play in the valley any longer. It finally got to the point with me where I figured most of the valley morons did not deserve hearing one note from me.
As for all of Mr Liebing's fat and mouthy critics. He did it. He played. He recorded. He entertained and all you fat Mohawk Valley losers have down is run your fat ignorant mouths and gotten fatter and dumber and poorer. Fat people are so retarded.
A word of wisdom for any young people in the area. The Mohawk Valley is a good place to be from.
Hopefully sobriety will cause Mr Liebing to move on to greener pastures. You Mohawk Valley losers don't deserve to be entertained by Jon. Stay home and order pay per view wrestling and screw your fat wives and eat.

Why must media spin doctors always dress up a musical performer's criminal record as some sort of salvation bestowed upon us that we should be thankful for? Musicians stink of their sense of entitlement to commit antisocial and illegal acts, be it drunk driving, illegal drugging or sexual promiscuity. These celebrities flaunt their perversion upon the public, bathing in its stench and contaminating our impressionable youth.
When is the last time any one of these clowns has actually bent over and done an honest day's work and contributed to society? Instead, they leave behind a trail of empty beer bottles, crashed cars and broken hearts. I don't need any of their 'music' to interpret my life, that's for sure!
Stacy, I bet you are fat. I bet you are a glutton whose only talent is making and eating Nestle Toll House cookies.

The biggest drunk in "The Valley" are the lawyers and the judges like that crook Judge Ed Rose in Little Falls and his punk kid Mark Rose who is the crooked city attorney.

As a retired professional musician fat Stacy, I can tell you that it is honest work and it is hard work. So fatty, I would suggest that you stop listening to music entirely and mute the TV when you are watching the Food Network.

You ask when was the last time any of these clowns contributed something to society. Every heard of Bono, John Lennon, Willie Nelson, Farm Aid or Melissa Etheridge? Jon along with many other valley musicians have played countless charity events to raise money. When was the last time some fat ass like you did something charitable? Jon has probably helped to raise many thousands for people who were sick and in need of medical services. I recall asking Jon to play at benefit for a child in need of a bone marrow transplant and he was there with bells on while you were on your couch eating like the fat mouthy pig that you are.

So where do all you perfect people hang out anyway? I'd like to see what one looks like. I agree with you. Anyone who makes a mistake should NEVER be given another chance. Who cares about whether Jon has changed his life around. He was guilty once, he'll be guilty all his life. Good for you! You're perfect! And being perfect; it's your job to spread hate. Your doing a good job of it too. That's what the world needs now...hate, sweet hate.
Go look in the mirror. If you like what you see you're blind. "Good" people don't say such hateful things.
But then again, that's what forums like this are designed for. You post your opinion, and I post mine.
Feel free to hate me too if you want. It seems to be what you do best. And just like in the case of Jon, you'll be doing it without knowing a single thing about me.
Genius.

Thanks to the publicity given this repeat felony offender by both Bill Keeler's net newspaper and the Utica Topix board, both M.A.D.D. and S.A.D.D. representatives will be present to carefully witness his debut performance. Close attention will be paid to obvious intoxication and motor vehicle operation. Be alive, don't drink and drive, please.

He's already had his "debut" as you call it. He's been playing shows for almost a month now.

I have always been impressed with Jon's music. I just bought two of his latest CDs from Tal Daiker so he could replace his own copies. These are incredible works.Especially Storm anchor. They blew me away.He has real talent. The mix,the arrangements and song writing are amazing. I also am a veteran solo musician of more than thirty years and I'm wishing I can some day put out work this good. His personal life is not my business. As I could not cast the first stone.

You people need to get on with your lives.I know alot like you, if you trash and slash someone else than maybe no one will point out your short comings. Funny, you have perfect pasts. The problem is he made mistakes and is recovering, does madd and sadd go to the upscale bars and fundraisers and judge the lawyers, judges, and doctors etc over the limit? As far as his music you all must be the 20-35 yrs group where it is all head banging ,screwing around and take take take.Funny all the new artists are remaking those songs. Good luck to Jon,as for the negs, go practice a self righteous attitude with your me me me generation friends.

Hey, I hope John Leibing makes it alright now.
He has been playing original music for you local critics for many moons and it is exactly the issue of lack of concern for self-enterprise and musicians in this DEAD END HELL of A HILLTOP.

If you know better, maybe somebody could organize a better mechanism for travelling to and from gigs as part of the deal to gig.

I know that I had my fair share of "O shits" in my time and I thank God I made it home in one piece in my stupid earlier years of trying to "PLAY OUT TONIGHT AT THE ***** FOR ROME, OLD FORGE, UTICA, NEW HARTFORD, THE CHURCHES, THE BIKER RALLIES, THE BIG SHOW AT VERNON, ect..."
just to have no body give a goddam who I was, will be, and if I ate, saw any travel money, or anything, ecxept that I played for THE SHOW AND THE PEOPLE who couldn't distinguish one drink from any other reason to be there.

MUSICIANS IN THE CENTRAL NEW YORK REGION, ESPECIALLY THE MOHAWK VALLEY, DESERVE TO EXIST AND SHOULD BE PROMOTED. WE CAN BUY THE GEAR, BUT CAN'T PLAY IT AFTERWARD?

John - I know I don't know you man, but I am sorry you had to go through that crap to learn the lessons. I hope you stay alright and can continue to record and perform.

I would support you if you are looking to collaborate or set up with a drummer/bassist/guitarist

I am sober and hope to remain well.

I knew Jon (actually Jon and Kim, his twin brother) when they began their careers as The Netherlands... they had a record out at one time... Linda Lou... Jon's got talent, but made the mistake of staying local (like so many others of the great local musicians and bands...)
