I am glad to hear that Proctor High will have a Hockey Team! They have been getting better each year until they stopped the program two years ago because of Willis and Nemecek! This wouldn't have been possible without the new Administration support!!

I believe WKTV just said the Hockey team will be funded by the parents of the players... I guess that means equipment upgrades, transportation, insurance, etc.

Every player has their own equipment. No school provides any equipment other than jerseys. They already have the jerseys left over from the team before. So no expense there. Transportation will be provided by the parents or if the booster club raises enough money they can pay for the busing. As far as insurance goes, all schools are self insured and covers all players on the ice. All of the other participating schools just have to sign an agreement that covers their own students. So there is no cost for this at all for any schools. This will all be funded by the parents and booster club.

This isn't true. When I played in new Hartford the school provided jerseys, socks, pants, mouth pieces and helmets.

Everything else was the the players own equipment including goalie equipment, sticks, shoulder pads, elbow pads, skates, gloves, shin guards, hockey bag , cup and tape.

New hartford did something cool as well. They kept a room of equipment from past players that didnt need it anymore so players whose family's may not be able to provide could get some equipment.

Sorry, but it is true. The only thing being provided for this team is the jerseys that the previous team wore. Helmets, pants or shells and anything else belongs to the player. As far as socks go, they wear plain black or white socks which can be bought anywhere for 15 dollars. There is absolutely no cost for the schools.

In the near future when finances improve maybe the Utica School District will provide a subsidy for Varsity Hockey in the Athletic budget!!

Well there's the difference in your statement. Previously you said "no team" and now you've cleared it up by saying "this team". Maybe utica doesn't provide those items, which is unfortunate, but it doesn't mean that other area schools don't provide that equipment. Having played in new Hartford I know what they did and didn't provide and it sounds like they provide more than utica does.

Actually your quote was "no school" not " no team". Sorry for the misquote but again the quote "no school" is incorrect knowing what NH does provide its players.

Who will coach??? I hope not Larry I don't skate crachiollo!!! I played when this clown coached and we had zero offense or penalty kill whatsoever! No dump and chase or puck possession. Guy knew nothing about hockey. Again, who will coach?

Ok you really need to get over picking my statement apart. No one gives a shit about what NH gave you. I'm just trying to make the point that this team will not cost the taxpayers or any school involved a dime. It's completely paid for by the players. Whether its jerseys or socks or whatever, totally funded by the participants. Is that clear enough now?

It's pretty clear. You said "no school". Not picking over your statement it's what you said which is false.

OMG! Do you feel better now? I feel like I'm talking to a high school English teacher. If you can't stick to the topic then just shut up. You sound like the typical NH pompous ass**** who talks crap about anything that has to do with Utica Schools. This is not about you so get over it.

No one is talking crap about anyone. I guess you haven't read the whole thread...or at least can't comprehend it I guess. I just commented on what YOU said and what YOU said wasn't true. You made a mistake. Everyone does. I guess it's you who needs to get over it.
